“Good location”
We stayed 5 nights at this hotel in November 2011. The location is the best point about this hotel as it is very well situated for all the major attractions, which are easily accessible on foot within 20-25 mins walk. Our room was well appointed but very small, with barely enough room around the bed and the bathroom was small. Other rooms in the hotel are much larger, may be we were unlucky! The staff were excellent and we could not fault them, they all spoke very good english. On our last day our flight was not until 21.00 with a pick up at 18.00 they allowed us to keep our room until we left at no extra charge. On the negative side- the mini bar prices were high even for small snacks, and the bar prices were ridiculous 16 euros for two cups of tea and 16 euros for one whisky. We did not eat in the restaurant as it was too expensive. The buffet style breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. As there were plenty of places to eat and drink locally at sensible prices these were not major issues. Overall we had a very good stay and would recommend this hotel but beware of the small room. For a short stay its worth putting up with a small room because of the good location.
“Outstanding”
Beautiful hotel, extremely helpful and polit staff and fabulous location
“Best location in Rome”
Well located. Knowledgeable concierge. Comfortable, although small, rooms. Roof deck bar is a must at sunset
“Awesome Location”
Great service. Amazing rooftop terrace.
“good hotel....excellent location”
lovely decor in bedroom although bathroom needed upgrading. small rooms but this is europe after all. very comfortable bed and nice touches in room. excellent location and can highly recommend the restaurant opposite called osteria dell anima, excellent food and excellent service. breakfast was good, cold and hot buffet.
“ALL TOP-NOTCH”
This hotel fully lived up to (& exceeded) our hopes and expectations for our honeymoon. Nothing could be faulted, from the moment the bell-boy saw us walking down the street as we first arrived and rushed to carry our cases. All the staff were very friendly, professional & efficient and their knowledge of English was excellent. We were very impressed with the high quality of furnishing, fittings and decoration of our room, and wew never really got round to watching both flat-screen TVs! Bed linen was changed everyday, and each evening a small box of chocolates was left on the turned-down bed. We just ate breakfast in the hotel, and the range of choice was fantastic. The dinner menu was expensive, but there are lots of very reasonably-priced, traditional Italian reatuarants in the vicinity of the hotel. The gym in the basement of the hotel is very well equipped, and with marble and mirrors all round. 7 floors higher, the view from the roof-top terrace gives superb panoramas over all of Rome. We can easily see why it is so popular to eat up here in the summer. The hotel is very conveniently located for all of the sights of central Rome - a 20 minute walk takes you to the Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Main shoppping area, the Pantheon, Roman Forum, etc. The fantastic Piazza Navonna is just round the corner - great both during the daytime and the evening. You will find cheaper hotels, but will struggle to find better quality at this price.
“Location Location”
This hotel was high quality, in an excellant location for sightseeing and for enjoying good restaurants in the evening. The breakfast was exceptional and was included within the price of the room. This was handy as there was not an abundance of places to buy breakfast or get a morning coffee. However the choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner was exceptional all within 100m. We would definately return. The hotel organised our transport to the airport - it was very efficient and comparable to prices quoted on line - just hair raising in terms of Italian driving.
“Incredible city, incredible experience, incredible hotel”
We travelled to Rome as a couple on a dream romantic break away - the experience was amazing and the hotel was the key to the experience. Being equidistant from the Colosseum/Forum and the Vatican, 2 minutes from the Pantheon and 10 minute walk from the Trevi fountain, you cannot get a better situated hotel. From start to finish the staff were wonderful and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic for a start of the day "fill up" before hitting the tourist trail. We found that the room (standard room) was lovely, clean and was really comfortable with a large flat screen TV with Sky TV and access to free wireless internet if required. We utilised the hotel's car service in order to get back to the airport - a definite recommendation to any traveller. The amount we paid for the service was in line (if not cheaper) with the quotes we had received from taxis and brought the whole experience to a lovely end. In short, we cannot praise the hotel enough and will certainly be returning to Hotel Raphael on our next trip back to the most wonderful city in the world.
“Would do this all over again”
This hotel was amazing, actually the whole trip was a life experience. All staff at the hotel were amazing and helpful. We would definitely go back there. The location was very good for walking. Very centrally located. Thank you for the experience.
“Lovely hotel, shame about the room”
Couldn't fault the hotel in charm, location or the attentiveness of staff. And I know there are different room standards. But we had booked into a standard suite and I have never been in a smaller hotel room ever. There were two of us and we had to climb on the bed to let the other pass. And the bathroom was tiny and the toilet so close to the side wall and behind the door that it was uncomfortable. It was probably to do with the shape of the room as this was once a mansion and other standard rooms appeared to have different set ups. But it put a dampener on the experience for us. MAKE SURE YOU BOOK A BIGGER ROOM!

Navona - Pantheon, Rome, Italy: In the heart of the historic centre, Piazza Navona is Romes most famous square. Like a giant stage set, this is where the theatre of daily Roman life is re-enacted among the café tables that spill out onto the fountain-splashed piazza. Berninis baroque extravaganza, the Fontana dei Quattro Fiume, is the most celebrated of the three fountains. Nearby is the Pantheon one of Romes great symbols and a marvel of ancient architecture.
