Another Excellent Vacation

Posted 23-Feb-2015
Pros: All resort staff are extremely friendly and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working there. Food is great in taste and presentation.
Cons: Consistency and quality of drinks. You can order the same drink from 5 different bartenders and get 5 different tasting drinks.
Our third stay at an Excellence property, and as always a great experience. I would highly recommend this resort for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. I couldn't have asked for a friendly staff; from bartenders, to servers, to front desk and bellmen they all take pride iin helping you relax and enjoy.

Not happy at all with overall experience at this hotel. Food was awful, service of most of the staff was not accomodating at all the hotel itself was a nice place and the location was great but the restaurants were terrible especially the Mexican restaurant it was very dissapointing however i would like to add that not all staff was not good Most were trying really hard but i felt they lacked alot of training

Excellence Riveria Maya Review

Posted 20-Feb-2015
10 yr anniversary getaway. A beautiful resort with amazing food and very friendly staff. Enjoyed the spa and hydrotherapy pools for a reasonable price. Day trip to the Mayan pyramids. Absolutely stunning architecture and workmanship. Good times with new friends! Once in a lifetime experience! Loved it... Can I please go back???

Best Vacation EVER!

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: Just about everything
Cons: The only thing was it seemed that the free wifi connection didn't work very well in the evening and sometimes cut out during the day
Location: It was about a half an hour from the airport.
I may ramble in this review, but I just want to give out as much info as I can that can be helpful. The resort looked exactly how it did on the website. The food was very good. We really enjoyed the French and Italian restaurants. It is a great environment! We were told that the resort was sold out, but because the resort was so big, it really didn't feel too crowded. We had the suite with a bed right outside the room beside the pool, which I highly recommend. They have everything. There are 8 restaurants for dinner, sit down and buffet options for both breakfast and lunch, there is a coffee shop, 24 hr room service, multiple bars, 2 gift shops, a cigar bar, multiple games ( pool tables, ping pong, chess, shuffle board, board games set up, horse shoes on the beach, pool volleyball), and even a self serve soft serve ice cream machine outside next to the bar. There is a bunch of other stuff as well that we either didn't get a chance to do or I am just forgetting. Everybody speaks English. They take American money. We didn't watch very much tv, but there are only like 4 stations in English and the rest are in Spanish. There is a live show every night. The singer Claudia and her partner are fantastic if you get a chance to see her. There is a lazy river and like 2 or 3 other pools, one of which is heated. It was the best experience we have ever had with a resort.

Beautiful place with great pools and beach areas.

Posted 13-Feb-2015
Pros: Nice selection of restaurants and bars to chose from. Food and service in most of the restaurants was wonderful. Good entertainment.
Cons: The Flavor Mart was disappointing. Being a new restaurant addition to the Excellence I don't think they have hit their stride yet.
Location: Did not have to leave resort. Lots of things to do..
Great facility with many amenities. The complete staff is great from the moment you arrive until the time you depart. They are very friendly and will do anything to make your visit memorable.

Nice Hotel, Small,

Posted 12-Feb-2015
Pros: Friendly Staff, Swim up Bar his name is Joel, give him a Raise !
Cons: Food !!! Poor Buffet , this is everyday cold, Silver Food Bins empty, one room food, then you had to walk into another room to continue buffet,
Plenty of Chairs around pool, Beach chairs some Broken, don't know till you sit in them, Three Lazy river pools, they are all separated, should join them all together. If your in pool, back side Hotel, then you want to go to Swim up bar, you have to get out of pool walk then get back in again. All resturants were good, the morning Buffet was Poor. You arrive from Airport very nice greeting with wet towels, champaine, check in very Friendly, Room was clean, Bar restocked everyday,

Top-Notch

We have stayed at several adults-only all-inclusives, and this was the best. Check-in was quick and easy. No one ever bothered us about time share options. Housekeeping was top notch. We never had to worry about being short of towels, washcloths, toilet paper. We had a very quiet room with three layers of curtains to block all light. Of all the cruise ships and resorts, this one had the best gym. There was a huge variety of food, no reservations required, and the restaurants' service hours were longer than every else we have been. No complaints at all.

Easy and very fun getaway

Posted 09-Feb-2015
Everyone at this resort works hard to make sure it is spotless and guests are enjoying themselves. It is a resort that provides a lot of activities for their guests so that you can do a lot of interesting things and stay active and busy- or not, depending on what you feel like doing each day. The 9:30 a.m. daily tennis lessons with Alfonso are fantastic, as is the daily 10 am bike ride into the nearby town of Puerto Morelos. The resort is also close to the airport, so that it only takes about 30 mins to get to the front desk and start checking in once you leave the airport. It was the first stop for our shared van from the airport. I also liked arranging ground transportation through Expedia using Best Day. The whole experience was stress free and easy. The resort was beautiful and food was yummy.
