“portland was a too close for comfort location, but this hotel was centrally located”

great location to get to all freeways, beaverton, portland, washington.

“Not the best location, but great for the price!”

I came in expecting a dingy motel, but what we found was a nice hotel that was very clean and much better than we expected, with a helpful staff and a great continental breakfast (they had waffles!) Even though it's located in an industrial area it's not too far away- 5 minutes by car.

“Just OK”

We called and wait on hold extensively to make sure that they reserved a baby crib for us and had it ready. Then we had to wait while the only staff person went to the basement to get one. Our first room reeked of smoke so we had to wait again while we got a different room. It's out in an out of the way industrial area of Portland. Not convenient at all to downtown.

“Railroad tracks and trucking companies”

If you don't mind staying where railroad yards start clanging at 4 in the morning and your are located right beside a major trucking firm, then by all means stay here!!

“Great hotel for price”

The hotel was clean and comfortable, service wasn't excellent- I asked a couple times for local attractions and the hotel staff weren't able to give me directions or suggestions, the location is in an industrial area but I didn't feel unsafe and it took about 7-10 minutes to get to the heart of downtown Portland. I would stay here again.

“Great deal, clean, new hotel, far from anything”

This was a brand new hotel that was clean, friendly and had a nice pool and hottub. The continental breakfast included make-your own waffles and fruit and yogurt. The hotel was about 3 miles from the train station and downtown which ends up as about 12$ to cab with tip. The bus is an easy option for weekdays. The hotel is in an industrial area of the city but is across from a convenience store with a Subway in it. Other than that there is not much close by that you can walk to.

Must see

This is a great city for micro-brew beers and there are several breweries where you can tour and/or sample.

“Okay for the Price”

Hotel is located in an industrial area and unfortunately is not close too Portland's MAXX public transportation system which accesses all of the city's highlights. Beds were okay, room was clean, no maps were available and staff did not know how to access public transportation. Nice and clean indoor pool and hot tub. Horrible continental breakfast, Starbucks three blocks away.

Area recommendations

City center, Portland's nicest restaurants and shops are located there.

“Industrial Area -BUT - excellent in EVERY other way!”

Friendly staff. Clean, very comfortable room. It is an Industrial area, but still very close to downtown - the gardens etc. We highly recumbent this hotel. Excellent value!

“Not enough for the price”

The price of this hotel was on the higher side, in the same group of hotels (similar star rating etc). But the price seemed to be related to its distance from downtown Portland. Yes, it is within 2-3 miles from downtown, but definitely in the wrong part of town. With magnificent views of the stockyards, and ugly chimney stacks. The hotel was clean enough, with strong smell of cleaning stuff. In summary, I was expecting a bit more for the price I paid.
