Not bad.

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: The beds, sheets and pillows were pretty comfortable. The AC was great and so was the shower!
Cons: The opening and closing times of the little restaurant downstairs
Location: Logan Square and the Rocky Steps about 10-30 minutes away. Union Transfer concert venue was a 10 minute walk
This was my first trip to Philly ever and we needed a hotel to stay the night after the Jon Bellion concert at Union Transfer. Union Transfer was surprisingly close to the hotel so that was a great plus. After the concert, me and my nephew were utterly exhausted so we went to the 7/11 about 10 minutes away and grabbed some snacks then went back to our hotel room to sleep off the concert. The room wasn't that big, kind of like a studio apartment. The beds were big enough for us to sleep on and pretty comfortable and the AC was great. Shower was fantastic as well. We woke up early in the morning to grab breakfast in the little restaurant downstairs and it turns out the little buffet they had was free so that was a huge plus. We checked out at 12 on the dot and found out the Rocky Steps were only about 20-30 minutes away and stumbled upon Logan Square where we spent a lot of time before we headed back to New York. Overall, it was great, location was great in regards to where we were planning to go but there was a lot of construction around so it wasn't pretty. Quiet though.

You can do better

Posted 29-May-2015
Pros: Price was very low when I needed a room for a night. Otherwise, only adequate.
Cons: Not sure they can help the location but, as noted above, it's not ideal for much beyond a convention.
Location: See above.
For a convention-goer, the location is OK, adjacent to the convention facility. For others, it's blocked from the main attractions of the city by the huge convention center. The interesting restaurants, historic sites etc., with the exception of Reading Terminal Market, are on the south side and the hotel sits to the north. The immediate surroundings are not a particularly pleasant When I checked in, the person at the front desk was chatting away with someone else in line and the discussion appeared to be friendly and personal -- and while that's a nice thing it meant I had to wait five minutes just standing there while hotel business was not being conducted. The room was adequate, but not noise-proof enough to keep out traffic noise from the street. I chose the hotel for a one night business stay because the price happened to be marked way down. It wasn't a terrible stay but I would pay a little more for nicer and better location. Final note -- I believe that despite the name, it's not actually a Sheraton, a name I associate with fairly good, if not excellent, quality. My understanding is that Sheraton basically rents its name out to other hotel companies, as is the case here.

Nice hotel. Located in a conveinet location.

Called the night before requesting an early check in and was told that it would be noted in my reservation and to call the next morning to confirm it. Called the next morning and the phone kept going to a voicemail box. Called about 15 more times and got the same voicemail box. I decided to just go to the hotel, it was around 1:45pm and asked about the early check in. The two ladies at the front desk told us no one had checked out, even though they tell you there's no late check out, and that there were no rooms available for early check in. I explained to them that we drove all the way from Connecticut and we tried calling multiple times. One of the ladies said "We recieved calls." So I called in front of them and they were dumb founded that there phones didn't work. No one offered to speed up someone cleansing a room for us and told us to come back after 3pm. Very rude and inconsiderate. The gentleman that was there later on in the afternoon was ABSOLUTELY amazing! He apologized for their mistakes and made sure we were well taken care of! Other than the two ladies in the front, the hotel was very nice. Some things were broken and some of the sheets were stained but the bed was comfy after requesting new sheets.

Pros: Location, Customer service was good
Cons: Cleanliness, needs updating
Location: Thumbs up on the location, easy hotel parking
It's reasonably priced and good for an overnight stay in Philly - good location - but overall, the cleanliness and atmosphere/ambiance needs improvement.

Clean hotel close to convention center.

Friendly staff. Clean hotel close to convention center. My daughter plays volleyball and we travel a lot. By far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Comfy rooms and beds. Can't complain. Clean. Walls a little thin (so beware....your neighbours are listening). Locally you're right next to the convention centre, lots of food places near by. 15min walk to the Liberty Bell. Front desk are very accommodating. Happy to stay again if the opportunity arises.

Avoid this hotel

The service I received from this hotel was terrible. I'm typically a Sheraton fan, but the service at this hotel was just awful! I would rather sleep in my car then to stay at this place. Even the front desk manager and the GM were unresponsive. Philly is a great city, there are far better hotels for the same or lesser money.
