"Staff ready to retire, location wrong on Expedia"
I booked it late (around 10pm) while in Lake Louise and since my booking was confirmed I drove the 1.5 hours to hotel location. The directions which came directly from Expedia were WRONG. I tried calling the hotel multiple times, but no one picked up (they were already asleep). I lucked out by getting directions off of Google differently, and it turned out to be 30 minutes farther. I arrived at 1:30am, and was scorned by the owner for waking him up. He said the check-in must be done by 9pm (how would I know ???). Despite having an "attitude", they checked me in, and gave me the room. They provide minimal supplies (one tiny bag of shampoo, barely enough to wash your hair, was also intended to be used for body wash and hand washing (why not shampoo bottles and soap bars ?) The breakfast was minimal as well (coffee was great).
The balcony overlooks a beautiful view, but the overall experience was affected by the wrong directions, late arrival, and bad attitude of the onwer/manager. I was also "urged" to leave on time (noon), so they can clean the room, because they needed it for the next arrival.
