It is an excellent hotel located in the centre of Palenque, the minimal/rustic details are really nice and the room was very clean and comfortable, bedsheets always pristine, friendly staff with someone always at reception. It's great to have breakfast included although the toasts are not great (a bit to dry for my taste), probably a blend with a Mexican breakfast touch, fresh bread or Mexican flavour would be it!

The best hotel in Palenque

Nice and clean - affordable luxury!
It is a good hotel. Very close to the main square, and about 20 min walk from the ADO bus stand. Would recommend for solo travellers looking for some temporary affordable luxury while travelling thru Yucatan and sleeping in hostels otherwise :)

The hotel es really small, the café is the lobby as well and is all you have beside your small room. They gives as room no. 1, terrible, almost no furniture the lavatory in front of the bed, so noise, and the bed so uncomfortable. We book to nice but cancel and for a couple of dollars more found a 4stars hotel with a nice pool. The staff is so friendly and helpful that is the only good thing about this hotel.

Nice hotel, but lower your service expectations.
I was a single male traveler, and I wanted cleanliness, simplicity, a touch of individuality, air conditioning, and a bath room with hot water. This hotel supplied all those features at a very reasonable price. In addition, it was quiet although less than a block off main street, two blocks to the zocalo/plaza and with at least two tasty restaurants nearby. The owner was very pleasant, and when he was around the staff was attentive. No coffee available before breakfast which begins at 7:30, so if you want to be there when Palenque opens, you will need to make other arrangements. Alert: if you have large bags think twice about this hotel. The stairs are narrow with square corners. I had a back pack, so I had no problem. The staff needs more training in service standards. I gave up on breakfast despite only three other people in the (stylish) breakfast room. They had two women working in the kitchen, and the morning desk clerk was helping some, but still I couldn't get my coffee until my breakfast was ready, and that didn't happen till a couple nearby got totally served and seconds on coffee. They need to be trained on service expectations, or keep a coffee pot in the room for self service.

I enjoyed my stay the first and second time!!!
The entire staff was wonderful and congenial. I stayed twice in one month due to the quality, location, hospitality, and general beautiful appeal of the rooms offered at Maya Rue. The daily breakfast was a plus, but all aspects of the hotel were great. I plan to bring my college students from New York City back to Palenque and we will be staying at Maya Rue.

Street noise and noise from the hallway and other rooms is a problem. Fortunately, this is mainly a business district, and the neighbours shut down relatively early. Bring ear plugs, though. A more serious issue was that the mechanism to direct aiirflow from the air conditioner was broken. The unit blasted continuously and directly onto the bed, no matter how the louvers were repositioned. Two nights of Canadian winter in the tropics. I fell ill.

Good location, good breakfast and friendly staff. We were just there for the night whilst we visited the ruins and cascade Azul, but was a very comfortable night.

Grand old dame of a hotel with great staff + Locat
Great staff. Unfortunately we paid for a king bed, was given a double that had bedbugs. We were moved to a King bed the last night after seeing the bites. The staff and building here were the crown jewels- the service, drinks, food and building were great however the dirty pool, room mixup and bedbugs were a sour point. Your knees touch the wall when on the toilet and the water wasn't hot- only warm.

Had its ups and downs. I had 2 rooms during my stay, first very nice but the second I would not repeat. First, spacious and light, second cramped, dark and noisy. Staff ranged from excellent to not functional.

Good location, comfortable and clean
Walkable from the ADO terminal and close to the main square with its restaurants. Comfortable with a minimalist, modern style. Friendly staff. Front rooms are big and have a balcony. I asked for a quiet room so had one at the back with a small window. That said, noise does travel up from reception, at least to the first floor, and I needed ear plugs.

Es un hotel pequeño, sin embargo muy lindo, limpio, accesible, te ofrecen además desayuno, el cual es muy rico y saludable! El personal suuuuper amable y atentos! Sin duda lo recomiendo y regresaría a este hotel en caso de volver a Palenque. En el centro de la ciudad. Puedes salir a caminar, comer, cenar y tiene estacionamiento.
