Hotel conveniently located near the Palenque ruins. Rooms nice with a couch area. Buffets especially the breakfast one was very good, really nice outdoor pool, within walking distance to other restaurants downtown. We would stay again.
a charming neighborhood within a 15 minute walk to the Zocalo in Palenque. I enjoyed a quick dip in the pool when it was hot. We came to visit the Mayan ruins and the nearby museum. There are also some great stone carvers in town. I also bought some great textiles at a store in town, but it took some effort to find he store.
We arrived at 3 AM after being held up for 9 hours by the sugar cane workers blocking the main highway between Chetamul to Campeon. The hotel was ready for us.
The rooms were spacious bungalows. They were in good condition and the grounds were nice. They were not luxurious but the price was very reasonable. If you enjoy the out of doors and have a car this is a much better choice than in the town itself.
What more can I say than this is a secluded paradise. Exceptional personal service from beginning to end. We were treated like royalty. They did everything to make our stay a special experience. Helped book a last minute tour to Bonampak and Yaxchilan. Upgraded us to a Jr. Suite. You won't go wrong staying here. Stayed two nights. Excellent meals with personalized service. A highlight of our trip to Southern Mexico. We'll be back.
"Very nice hotel but not great restaurant service."
Because of the range of fairly mediocre hotels offered in the Palenque area, we didn't have great expectations of this hotel, thinking it might be the best of a bad bunch. But, we were pleasantly surprised. It far exceeded our expectations. The room was cool, with fan and aircon, with a large, king-size bed and a great bathroom. The pool was lovely and the receptions staff couldn't be more helpful. The only thing that let the place down were the serving staff in the restaurant. They were cheerful enough and willing enough but they just weren't trained or managed very well. On our second night, one of the waiters seemed to take charge so it was much better but on the first evening and at both breakfasts, it was rather farcical. If they could just sort this out, I would give this hotel 5 out of 5.
