Beautiful room

Posted 16-Dec-2014
The rooms here are gorgeous and finishing are excellent. I had an opportunity to use in both the gym and swimming pool both were great. The only downside is that the hotel is currently under construction so the first floor is not accessible and the lobby and dining room are in a temporary state. all in all a great hotel I would go back.

Excellent hotel

Posted 04-Dec-2014
Pros: We had added the breakfast buffet to our stay. Javier the Omelet Chef made excellent omelets for us everyday.
Cons: Although the buffet had the same food everyday and could use a little bit more variety for the price they were charging.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean (I am very picky about it). Hotel was going through some renovations, so they had make shift lobby and restaurant. It was like a maze to get to your room but they put enough signs directing you and had hotel staffs guide you. They made every effort to make the guest experience enjoyable. We were there during the Thanks Giving weekend, so no construction noises, but when we were leaving we heard noises when we walked by the construction area and did not hear any noises from our room. It was a perfect location for us and would recommend it to others.

Normally a nice Hotel

Posted 03-Dec-2014
Pros: In general we like the Hotel
Cons: They should have adjusted the room rate and Expedia should have known that the Hotel was undergoing a major renovation
Location: Location is very good
The Hotel is undergoing renovation and finding your room was not easy. The room rate should have been reduced.

Dear CJ, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Newport Beach Marriott Bayview with us. I am very sorry our current appearance was not what you had anticipated. We strive to maintain the highest standards, not only in service, but also with regards to maintaining the overall look and feel of the hotel. Unfortunately, this sometimes requires essential renovations in our guest areas. As you noticed, we are currently undergoing a major renovation of our lobby, front desk, and restaurant. These areas are sure to provide a highly functional space and stylish d├ęcor that meet the modern needs of our valued guests, like you. Although we fell short of meeting your expectations during your past stay, I hope you will consider Newport Beach Marriott Bayview on your next visit to Newport Beach so that we can better deliver upon the guest experience you deserve. Sincerely, Alex Ghaffarian

Back Bay visit.

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Pros: Price, location to Back Bay, quiet atmosphere.
Cons: Pool. Also suite bedroom doors were difficult to open and close. Room 525.
Location: Shirley's Bagels on Bristol is great for breakfast. We used the walking/biking/jogging trails on the Back Bay everyday. Bluewater Grill for dinner.
Great location to Back Bay and service was good. Pool could use some resurfacing but most everything else was good. Breakfast prices were too high at $20.00 per person so we left the property to go elsewhere.

Good but overpriced

Posted 19-Oct-2014
Pros: Convenient to the freeway
Cons: See above - free internet, parking, reasonable food prices. It's NOT a 4 star hotel
Location: See above
The overall room rate was OK - got about 15% off the rack rate, but the add-ons nickel and dime you to death: Self-parking = $23/night; Internet = $13/day; Nothing special buffet breakfast = $20. And this is NOT in the middle of anywhere - 5 miles from Newport Beach center. For a business stayover (as this was) of a couple of nights it was OK, and the facilities were clean etc. But when will these larger hotels stop gouging ?

We lucked out

Posted 16-Oct-2014
We got an amazing room for pretty cheap! The room was massive, with a separate living room from bathroom (separated using french doors). The living room and bedroom were connected to the bathroom, which was also separated between toilet, shower and bath tub from the preparation area. The hotel staff was great and were very helpful trying to find us a last-minute dinner reservation. The only thing that was a let down was that we booked the bay view room, hoping we could watch the sunset on our last night of vacation, but the other half of the building was blocking the view.
