“Great manhattan location”
The Warwick is extremely well located in midtown Manhattan - it is easy to walk almost everywhere including Central Park, Time Square, the Broadway theatres and 5th Avenue. The Warwick does not have evening dining (except in the hotel bar) which isn't ideal but there are lots of NY restaurants close by. Typical for NY - the rooms are compact but they are more than adequate for a short to medium length stay. There is almost no lobby area so the coming and going through the entrance area can be quite busy. The staff are relativelty friendly - think that the chamber maids were likely the most hospitalital of the staff. The Warwick has a facinating history but it is very fortunate that the interior rooms have been renovated because I can't imagine staying here if they were not updated (even updated they are adequate but not five star). If you pick the Warwick - you will notice that almost all of Manhattan is at your doorstep and this is unbelievably convenient for getting a feel for the wonders of NYC..
“Very nice”
Fantistic room;remembered that I was a return visitor and thanked me.
“Definitely Would Recommend”
It was a great place to stay and enjoy the New York experience during the Christmas Season. The room size was very nice compared to other New York hotels we've stayed in previously - in the same price range.
“Great Thanksgiving Weekend”
Wonderful hotel. Only drawback, only 3 small elevators so wait times could get quite long. The hotel staff were great about taking groups to the service elevators during peak times. Really enjoyed my stay.
“Great New York experience!”
This was my first trip to New York. We went to the Macy's parade and this motel was less than two blocks from the parade route. Old hotel but well maintained. The beds were great. Would recommend it to anyone staying in the city. Central location to lots of shopping.
“A Good Time for All...”
The Warwick was good value for the money. The only real criticism was the fact the the room was a bit chilly and we were not able to adjust the temperature. Policies for refridgerator use were not displayed and buried in a room manual. It would have been easy to trigger the $50 fee by simply moving an object.
“Smallest room ever”
Dirty carpet and walls with some wear
“Convenient location”
Close to theatres, central park, 5th ave, subway, so good in the sense that it is very convenient. Unfortunately for us, two problems occured. First, we had booked a single king bed, but got a two double room...concierge fixed it on the second day (they had no rooms available on the first night and we were too tired to argue). Secondly, the new room we got, 1410, had a broken a/c, it kept spewing hot air, making the room uncomfortably warm, complained to no avail as the hotel said it was due to the weather outside (granted our stay did coincide with one of the worst storms ever). Overall, a decent hotel, but a little run down in terms of facilities.
“Very satisfied”
The Warwick had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay in Midtown Manhattan. Close to everything we wanted to see, friendly service, clean rooms and very comfortable beds. When you consider how old this hotel is, it is in remarkable shape. We had an interior room which was perfect for sleeping since it avoided all the street noise. The beds and linens were luxurious and comfortable. We would go back in a minute! Highly recommend!
“Not impressed”
The quality of the hotel was disappointing considering the rate charged. There was no coffeemaker, one couldnt use the fridge for any of ones own items (or a $50 restocking fee would be charge - even removing a bottle of water temporarily to put in some food, wine etc . -amazing!!) The house maid came bursting into the room twice even when asked to wait a moment! Towels were deliverd late. On our second day the bed was not remade when we returned at 2.oopm. When we phoned housekeeping it took another hour to be done! and even then not all the towelswere provided. Just a few of the issues. It was one of the most disappointing stays in our 27 day visit to the USA We were really looking forward to our stay in this historic hotel but would not return.
