“Paradise Found”
This was our fifth trip back to Sunset at the Palms. This in itself tells how we feel about this resort. The individual treehouses are surrounded by lush surroundings. The day bed on your own personal patio/deck I think is one of our favourite parts of the treehouse. The pool area is beautiful and surrounds a really nice pool bar. The beach and ocean are one of the best beaches we have vacationed at - have been to Cuba, Mexico and Aruba. It is situated just before the seven mile beach on Bloody Bay a beautiful inlet with calm, clear water. The beach is across the road from the resort but there are crossing guards that will assist you across the road. The resort is not large so is about a 3 minute walk. There are local vendors to the east of this beach but will rarely bother you. There is a buffet and one a la carte restaurant. The buffet offers quite a variety with theme nights every night of the week. We are not picky eaters but If you are there is so much selection you will be able to find what you like. The food was very good. The staff make this resort feel like a second home - they are phenomenal. Very friendly and always asking how you are doing and how your day has been. We are repeat customers and have become friends with a lot of the people at this resort. If you are looking for a small, quiet, relaxing resort in a beautiful tropical setting then this is the place for you. The Jamaica advertisement "Once you go you know" sums this place up.
“Third time and still charming”
Have been to Sunset at the Palms, Negril three times and each time has been as wonderful or more so than the time before. The resort is lovely and well maintained, our rooms were beautiful and cleaned daily. The rooms are like going into your own little condominium with not common walls shared with other guests - very private.
“Great Experience!”
Staff was very friendly and accomodating! First room had a few glitches - missing shower curtain and informational book. Asked to be moved and no issues from then on. If you're looking for a quiet get away with a relaxed atmosphere, this is definitely the place!
“Great place to do nothing”
If you have small children, a stressful job or a life that needs to be re-centered, this is your place. Wonderful rooms, attentive staff and quiet surroundings. Do not come to this hotel wanting to be entertained or meet people. The entertainment is brief and conservative. Food and staff are outstanding and tips are not expected within the hotel. The buffet is excellent, the restaurant is not worth attending, extremely small, tasteless portions. Beach is very small and narrow. If you want to spend quality time with your spouse, in a low-key environment, there is no better place.
“Very nice hotel. Good service. Good food. The staff is very nice and helpful. Quite resort.”
Very nice resort. A good place to chill out without parties and noise. It's not the kind of place of super-luxury, and if that's what you're looking for then search for other place. Overall 8/10.
“Great Value”
Hotel grounds were beautiful. Rooms were unique, private, and comfortable. The only suggestions would be to have more lighting and a clock in the room. We especially enjoyed the water sports and crew from Scuba Caribe.
“Secluded, Relaxing Resort”
If you want a quiet, relaxing Jamaican vacation, then this is your place. It is the anti-concrete resort with beautiful "tree-houses" nestled in lush gardens. I highly recommend if you'd like to get away from the crowds
“Romantic!!”
This is a perfect hotel for all couples looking for some romantic time off from reality in paradise! I will coem back to this place and I'm looking forward to it! Staff is extremly nice, the bungalows are very very neat. Food was awesome, you should definetly try the Jerk Chicken at the beach grill. The hotel theme is awesome, live music for dinner and entertainment at night. Please do yourself a favor and pick this hotel! My girlfriend and I are now more in love than ever ;)
“Quiet, relaxing and awesome beach”
My husband and I have now gone to this resort 3 times over the past 7 years. The beach is always very clean and the water is always clear and you can walk out a great distance. The beach grill is also great food during the day. The resturant food was actually better this past March but really just above average. The breakfast is good as well. The place is lovely, quiet, peaceful, and the lushness of the vegetation and wild Humingbirds are a plus for me because I enjoy photographing them. It is located well for taking a taxi to Ricks Cafe or checking out the hotels in the cliffs where the sunsets are awesome. I would reccomend this hotel for a couple who are looking for a different environment from the big hotels. The staff is accomodating and the huts are charming with their balconies to relax on. Again- very quiet at night if you like that. The nightly entertainment is just so so.
“Can't wait to go back”
After some research we picked this resort, and we wore not disapointed. The only things we agree with some of the complains from other previous guests was #1- insect bites (it's a jungle setting), #2 long ride (75 miles) from and to the airport, #3 the beach vendors try to sell you things but like any other vacation place they depend on tourists to make a living and if you tell them politely that you're not interested they leave you alone. Regarding some of the other oppinions i can only speculate that either the resort addressed these complains or these guests had high expectations. The air condition worked at all times, there was plenty of hot water in the shower and the staff wore all nice and very attentive. The food was good also. Most of all we liked the intimacy of the small resort. It is simple but in good taste. Bottom line is, if you like peace and relaxation this is the place for you.
