“WOW -”
We stayed in 2 BR O/F NICE Hotel appeared to be brand new. We were so surprised - best hotel we have ever stayed (and we travel a lot) Only critical point of mention is: Elevator location is far from ocean front rooms/suites/condo. One member of our party doesn't walk well and the distance was quite a challenge. This would ONLY be a problem for those with difficulties walking.
“Best we've ever stayed in anywhere!”
The Royale Palms was great in every way. The condo was huge! As a family, we especially liked that there were two bathrooms and a jacuzzi tub. We visited the shop that served Starbucks in the adjoining Hilton at least once a day and also had excellent buffet breakfast in Cafe Amalfi (gorgeous views) every morning. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, and we took advantage of the complimentary area shuttle several times to visit nearby shopping areas and restaurants. The shuttle drivers were also very helpful as tour guides. The many pool areas very beautiful, and our daughter loved the water park just a couple blocks down (free for us to use as RP guests). We did go a bit early in the season so the poolside bar nearest the RP/Hilton wasn't open, unfortunately. However, there was an open poolside bar near the waterpark with servers periodically walking around the pool and waterpark taking food and drink orders which was very nice. As we did not have a car, taxi-ing to other areas of Myrtle Beach (boardwalk, Ripley's, etc) could get expensive. And we were billed for parking (no car!!) but were able to clear that up.. no harm done. All in all.. we love the Royale Palms!
“OK If you don't mind feeling like the red headed stepchild”
I had a good time during my stay at the Royale Palms, but that was only because we were able to use the Hilton pool, which was nice with the DJ &bar. The problem was with everything else. Upon my arrival I asked if there was an upgrade available , the desk clerk looked and said no actually I had one of the nicest guestrooms. If that was true I would hate to see what the other ones looked like. They wasted so much space on the bathroom, there was more floor space in it then in the bedroom, I don't know who designed that layout, but they need to go back to school. My other gripe was that you HAD to pay each night to park your own car. If you didn't want to pay the $$$( their rules won't let me quote the price) I guess they expected you to park on the beach and watch the tide wash it away because there is no where elese to park. Oh and for $$$ a night you can get valet parking which is in the very same parking area they just have a valet sign there so you are assured a place to park. Ok 2 more things, to be such a nice hotel where are the bellmen to help you with your luggage? And last but not least the housekeepers make sure you don't sleep late they want to get their rooms cleaned and out of there, so they bang the doors every 5 minutes or so, bump into the walls everytime they run the vaccumn cleaner and stand in the hall talking waiting to see you leave your room. So ok I was there in August and because the pool was fun and that is where I was most of the time I would go back
“Very nice property, too far from shopping and food”
For those wondering, this property is attached to the Hilton and shares its amenities. This hotel had everything that you'd expect from a Hilton, room was very nice and well updated. Especially liked the beach bar setup which offered an incredible ocean view (this should be redundant, but many properties find a way to screw it up). The room rate includes a breakfast buffet, but make sure you "remind" them of it at check-in. You may notice the rate of your room going up dramatically based on the number of people staying-I'm guessing the breakfast is why. One thing that bothered me about this property (and adjacent ones) is the distance from the commercial district (restaurants, drugstores). This may be a good thing for some travelers, but we found it irritating to have to fetch our car out of the garage for every little thing. You really cannot walk to anything. Also the "self-parking fee" seemed like an unnecessary cash grab. Con: Only ice machine was on the first level.
“best in myrtle beach”
very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, fun bar and pool by the beach (which serves good food), nice decor... what else can you ask for?
“Fantastic Place.....”
Our first time at Myrtle Beach. Little difficult to find the first time, but the area is beautiful. Hotel is clean, well kept, peaceful with great amenities. Parking was very ocnvenient. Great value for the price. WE WILL BE BACK!!!
“Absolutely great until the $60 charge for self-parking”
The price, location, room, and pool were great. There is great shopping nearby, multiple outdoor pools and a bar, the room was clean and spacious, we had a view of the ocean and walked right onto the beach from the pool decks. We had no complaints and were all set to return until I went to check out and I had been charged around $60 to self-park for 4 days. Luckily, I noticed and questioned the charges. Turns out, I had been double billed for parking every day. My recommendation: stay here but study the bill!
