Friendly staff. The room was clean, nothing special about it. Towels for the pool area are complimentary. Access to the beach is easy. Great for families with kids because the bar is right at the pool with a DJ during the day. The Italian Ice hut has great prices. Pool closes at 11 pm. There's a small arcade area. Elevators were clean. The only time there was backup was during checkout.

The property itself was good; great pool, restaurants, outdoor bar access, and access to the beach. We were there for my granddaughter's softball tournament. It was centrally located to the fields we needed to be at. My daughter and her family had a 3 bedroom suite I believe which was considered on the south side of the property which was clean and very nice. They had ocean views and 2 beautiful balconies. My husband and I had a double queen oceanfront room that really was not comparable at all. The chairs in the room were stained and looked dirty, the carpet and room just felt old and musty. However the view and balcony was very nice.

The room was not clean and it was lot of dust under the nightstand. The balcony smelled pee very strong and there were 2 cockroaches in the bathroom. The pool is out dated so is the building. The staff were very kind and friendly and took care of the issue the same day. Good customer service.

This is our second time staying here. Before and after the renovations. We thoroughly enjoy staying here. It has everything you need for your family from the nice views, nice rooms, all the outdoor pool amenities (the water slide was a hit this time around) and enjoyed the music by the pool. Walking distance to Starbucks and river city cafe is another plus. Will be back again, thanks

Beautiful view, nice room it was just as pictured. Only gave 4 stars because our air conditioner had went out the first night and the whole unit had to be replaced the next morning. Maintenance were very responsive and quick about the fix and front desk was nice. Definitely family friendly. Nice pool and bar area that is connected to the beach. I love the facility as it was very clean. The beach is very easy to get to and very close to resort. The beach was clean and NOT overly crowded. The staff was friendly. One concern was getting toilet paper. We keep running out and had to physically go to get it from the front desk. You would only get one roll at the time. Unfortunately, there wasn't a store nearby to buy our own toilet paper. We flew in and didn't have a car to go to a store. There is limited housekeeping staff so twice we had to request clean towels and garbage removal, which was stated that it would happen daily.

Friendly staff. When checking in, I asked if my room had good ocean views and she said “Let me change your room so you have great views” and they were perfect!! Rooms were clean and beds comfortable!

We have stayed at Ocean Reef many times in the past, but this was our first stay in over ten years. Things we like: location at quieter northern end of Myrtle Beach and ON THE BEACH, opportunity to stay in a junior suite rather than just a bedroom for a reasonable price. Although we had read some renovations had been done, our suite this time was disappointingly "tired"- knobs missing from furniture and closet, light not working, refrigerator freezing up, tub faucet separated from wall. Housekeeping came by with new towels but no other housekeeping was done: no sheet change, no vacuuming for a week. None of these things had a ruining impact on our stay but were unexpected and will give us pause when considering a return in the future.

All staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. The room was clean, the bathroom had a drip and the faucet was a bit unusal, but we had a great stay.
