I booked a stay through Expedia that was advertised at a total price of $1,259. However, after completing my trip, I discovered the final total charged to my credit card was $1,423. It turns out there was a discrepancy between the exchange rate of Mexican pesos to U.S. dollars used by Expedia compared to the exchange rate used by my credit card company when the hotel processed the final bill. This resulted in the price difference of $164 over what was originally shown by Expedia. While I understand exchange rates can fluctuate, I feel Expedia should make it more clear that the prices shown may not match the final total in these situations, especially for international bookings. The price difference was significant and I felt misled by the pricing displayed during booking. I hope Expedia can improve how they communicate these potential discrepancies to customers in the future. Greater transparency on the variability of prices for international stays would be appreciated to avoid surprises like this.

Hotel was great. Transportation services left a lot to be desired. We made several reservations with the concierge for day trips and each time the trip was delayed because the concierge didn’t coordinate the services timely.

We were a group of two families w/ 5 kids ages 7-12. The hotel was perfect for our families. Staff was very accommodating and attentive. It’s worth paying the extra to get the lounge access for the breakfasts and happy hours. Our kids loved that. My only complaint is that when dealing with the hotel on items like arranging transportations and tours be prepared for everything to be late. The cars or guides won’t be timely, mostly bc it seems they do not actually order the services until you’ve paid the concierge even if you’ve arranged the services weeks advance. So, ask for things before you really need them to arrive and/or pay them early. They should have explained that’s how the do things but they didn’t and it was frustrating when you’re trying to build out a schedule for your day/trip. Other than that, the place was fantastic for our group. It’s in a very walkable and safe part of Polanco with tons of dining and shopping options nearby, walkable to the anthropology museum, zoo, and Chapultepec park/castle. Felt very safe. We’ll stay here again, especially now that we know how to work the concierge system better.

The intercontinental in the polanco area of Mexico City was an amazing hotel. The area around it is filled with lots of good dining and shops. The hotel itself is fantastic with many dining options and a nice bar on the first floor if you don’t want to go out in the city. Would definitely stay again.

Everything was excellent, except house keeping. During our 7 day stay, day 1 was quite normal for a 5-star hotel; days 2/3/4, there would be something missing, such as tissue box, towel, bottle water, and I had to call to get delivered; day 5, they didn’t even clean the used coffee mugs or put the slippers together! After my vocal complaint, things were better for the rest days. Needed much better training.

Spent 3 nights here with a group of friends for my birthday. The concierge was very prompt in responding and helping organise tours and reservations for our trip. The large lobby and numerous bars / restaurants made it easy for our group to convene. Polanco is a great neighbourhood, lots of restaurants and shops walking distance from the hotel.

They are very dog friendly. I brought my Xolouitzcuinli with me and it was great that the back exit was next to the park. It was very convenient. There are tons of restaurants around the area. We literally walked a lot during our stay other than when we went to the Basilica. The taxis and Uber are plentiful. My colleague had an asthmatic emergency at 2 in the morning and the concierge were there offering to go to the pharmacy and pick up the medication. I opted to get the medication myself and the taxi waited for me at the pharmacy.
