Nnice hotel. Room seemed new - up to date and very clean. We stayed in a double room. Bed was comfortable. Desk included a european style electrical outlet (type F I think) and a US style electrical outlet (Type B 110.) Mini fridge with a couple of complimentary waters provided. Blinds able to make the room quite dark. Could hear a little bit of traffic noise (It is Seoul after all) - but overall quiet.
Very convenient! Hotel is attached (maybe 10 steps from B1 level of the hotel) to entrance 2 of Gongdeok subway station.
From this station you can get the Airport train (AREX - dark blue) to Incheon or Gimpo airports, or use this train as transportation to Seoul station (1 stop away) or Hongik University area (1 stop the other way) We visited Hongik University area a few nights which is a very vibrant trendy area with lots of shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
You can also get on the Gyeongui–Jungang Line (light blue.) In just two stops (Ichon station) we were at the National Museum of Korea. Great museum - and free!
Station is also connected to line 5 and line 6, and once you have the subway figured out, it is quite easy to transfer to other lines too. You can easily get to tons of places in Seoul. We did a Han river tour, saw Gyeongbokgung palace, Namdaemun Market and Nameaemun Gate, Dongdaemun Market and Dongdaemun Gate - really the sky is the limit.
Last thing - there are restaurants and a supermarket right in the basement of the hotel. Convenient!
Though it is a bit off from the downtown of Seoul, as long as the free shuttle takes you to the nearest aubway station, it is easy to get to the hote places like Hongdae and Shinchon, or even Itaewon. I recommend this hotel to those who do not mind staying a place a bit far from the downtown.
We have check-in on Dec 20, and called the customer service counter to give us a morning call at the next day at "6AM". We use English to communicate and the hotel staff has also confirmed me back it is "6AM" for morning call. However, the telephone rang at 6:30am on Dec 21.
Took a airport limousine from Incheon (walked to the bus ticketing desk outside the terminal and told the ticketing agent I wanted to go to Hapjeong station). 50 minutes later the bus arrived at Hapjeong station, exit 6. I proceeded to walk to exit 2 where the hotel was located less than 50 meters away. Once inside the room, I was happy to see that it was extremely clean and the AC was pumping gratifyingly cool air. I also noticed that it was very quiet, couldn't hear the traffic.
This Hotel is near by public transportation. I catch the express Bus from Incheon Airport to Hotel. It was pretty quick trip and bus driver was very nice. Hotel is not big but good enough. One thing bad is no restaurant inside the hotel. Hotel staffs are so good and friendly.
We are a couple in our mid sixties and recently stayed at Studio 41 for 4 nights. Sun, Michelle and Sam did everything possible to make our stay an enjoyable one! The facilities are good and the help we were given with information, train and show bookings etc made all the difference! Michelle even tried our vegemite on toast! Thanks again to you all!
To the northwest of the Han River in Seoul, the Mapo-gu district hosts the soccer World Cup stadium, as well as 4 universities. After admiring the latest trends in student chic in the shopping area near Ewha Woman's University, hone your moves at a club in the Hongdae club district by Hongik University. Then satisfy your late night hunger pangs at one of the district's numerous eateries.
