"We stayed at this beautiful cottage through New Year, family of 7 and dogs, it was everything that we expected and more. The cottage was absolutely perfect, there were plenty of lovely walks around, we hired E-bikes through Bear Trax which was fun. All local amenities which included shops, pubs and restaurants (dog friendly) were within easy walking distance. Highly recommend this cottage and we will definitely be back to stay again."

"Douglas Cottage exceeded expectations. It was delightfully decorated in Georgian and Victorian styles but managed to perfectly combine historical charm with all the necessary mod-cons. The hosts, Barbara and Andrew, greeted us on arrival and showed us around the cottage and explained how everything worked. They thoughtfully saved us a parking spot directly outside the house (residents permit only) and provided us with a lovely basket of goodies. The location is absolutely ideal, about 100 yards...

"Loved the location of this charming cottage in Chester. Met with owners in person for an overview of the house. Home is walking distance to the Rows, Roman wall and ruins, beautiful parks and the train station. We enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the rooftop terrace overlooking the bridge and the river!"

"We had an excellent stay. Good comms with the owner. Lucky with the weather. Nice pub within walking distance. Great walks and drives nearby and shops within a short drive. A good place to be off-grid for a little while. Strong wi-fi always a bonus."
