“Will Stay at the Maya Again!!! Great Stay & Perfect Location for Cruisers!”
The Hotel Maya is very conveniently located next to the Carnival cruise terminal. You can actually walk there along the marina pathway. Or, for those of you who would prefer a free shuttle, the hotel offers that too! Shuttle van was very clean and driver was extremely friendly and prompt with our arrival and pick-up. We stayed at the Maya on the way to our cruise and when we returned. Both nights resulted in a very comfortable stay. There is also a complimentary city bus that takes you right to the downtown area of Long Beach where you can pickup some last minute cruise items at Wal-Mart or amenities you may need at CVS Pharmacy. Touring on the bus was a great way to also see the sights of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are looking for something close to the cruise terminal-very convenient! Take advantage of the Fuego restaurant. We enjoyed a romantic dinner there the last night of our stay. The meal was delicious and an amazing view of the marina from their outside deck. Could not have been more romantic and was very reasonably priced.
“Near Long Beach Oceanfront, away from Downtown - Great view!!”
It's located near the Oceanfront, a place with many great restaurants and a nice place to hang out at night. The view from my room was to the pool, the marina and at night you could see the lights from Oceanfront. The pool was amazing! Parking was a bit expensive, considering that the hotel is far away from anything and almost impossible to park anywhere else.
“nice and clean motel with great view of the harbor and boat”

“extremely poor service”
Apparently, the hotel clerk didn't check us in correctly, and the hotel re-assigned our room the following day. Luckily (or perhaps not) we were in the room when the new guests came in. I imagine they were not happy to have to go back the front desk which was a bit of a walk. The front desk called us to ask who we were and why we were in the room!! After giving our name & confirmation number the front desk called back and said 'oh, sorry, it's straight now". That was the extent of the apology. Soon after a hotel security guard came in our room and we told him to get out and that it was straight with desk and to radio them. Then we called the desk and told them that this was incredibly poor customer service to which they offered nothing but an apology. I asked them for a concession, and was finally offered free parking & a free breakfast. Amazing to have to ask for more than an apology when twice we had our privacy intruded on, because of their incompetency. I would definitely not recommend anybody to stay here. I can only imagine what would have happened if we were not in our room. Probably would have had our belongings thrown out in the street. Terrible.
“Great place to go before our cruise”
A large group of us went on a cruise and this was a good location to stay...less than a mile from Carnival Cruise. We went to the bar to watch the football game and the staff was excellent. It was a little noisy due while trying to sleep probably due to the activites being held in the hotel. (Wedding party or prom I'm not sure but it sounded like someone was running back and forth all night). Didn't consider this to be an issue with the hotel just people having fun.
“I love the harbor view!”
I am looking for a relaxing place to stay. The moment I saw this picture of the hotel online I felt the calmness and quiet atmosphere, the place I am looking for. I am not disappointed when I saw our room, exactly the way I expected. I got a room facing the harbor with balcony. I really love the place. However, during our first day and started to relax, the guests next door are talking very loudly. I even heard the guy screaming couple of times. I decided to call the front desk to request for a room transfer because I wanted a quiet and peaceful vacation I ever dreamed of. The front desk told me that they would check for any available room. I waited for the return call, but never called me back. Although, I noticed the guests next door became very quiet. That`s the only bad experience I had, but everything is perfect. I only wish they inform us what so ever, if they would transfer us to another room or not. Thankful for the free shuttle that comes every 10-15mins that would take us to the downtown. Otherwise, you have to call a cab if you don`t have the car. Good thing we don`t have a car, because as far as I know parking is not free. I wanted to come back. I love the hotel, the lighting effects of the building at night. A perfect getaway for people wanted to relax and escape the the busy life. Thanks Maya Hotel for the great experience!
“Great pet friendly hotel!”
Great pet friendly hotel - beautiful water side setting w/ paths to stroll along the water. The staff was so eager to assist you in any way - a real plus!
“Parking fee”
They charged me $14 each night for parking. I don' like that.
