Lovely stay

Pros: The welcome
We had a great welcome as we entered the hotel. One Spanish waiter was especially good. Lovely room and of course the location is superb. We had an upgrade once to a wonderful room with 2 windows looking over the Square. We would love this room again!

A London weekend to celebrate my 50th birthday.

Pros: As above.
Cons: The fa├žade is very tired and tube and bus information in the room would be extremely helpful. The bathrooms possibly need an upgrade too.
Location: Perfect for everywhere! We walked to Oxford Street, Covent Garden, The Strand and much more.
From the booking to our departure, everything went smoothly. The location was perfect, the staff very attentive and pleasant and the room was perfect, if a little chilly! We even had a view of Nelson's Column. The only downside was the exterior. A little shabby and worn. The rooftop bar was fabulous, well worth a view but booking is recommended.

Good location but basic.

Pros: Location
Cons: Facilities in room. Kettle had a lead that was approx 30cms long so you had to boil the kettle on the floor.
Location: Right in trafalgar square. Far too much in the area to list.
The location of this hotel is great, straight out of the door into trafalgar square. The rooftop bar is absolutely brilliant but rather pricey. The room was very basic, there was two sticks of coffee, 4 milks, 2 teabags etc. The mini bar stated the bottom shelf was left free for our convenience, on the first day we could not get in to it, on the second day after house keeping had been it was opened......we opened it to find the last guests food still in there. There was no complimentary bottled water or robes provided which you would expect for a hotel of this price. Friends of ours stayed at the radisson blu hampshire which was the same price but sounded much better. We chose this hotel as it looked to be the closest hotel to the finish of the london marathon. I would stay again because of the location but it is just like a clean travel lodge.

Pros: Location, Vista bar, peaceful hotel.
Cons: The bathroom was old and a bit tatty and did not have a bath tub.
Location: Excellent location for sightseeing. Located next to tube subway and brilliant spot for London Marathon.
Very attentive staff in a great location. Amazing roof top bar.

Pros: Everything really
Location: Already said how good this is in previous section
We very much enjoyed our first stay at the Trafalgar Hotel. The staff were particularly kind and helpfull and although the hotel was busy it still maintained an air of peace and tranquility and the room was very comfortable and quiet.

Really helpful receceptionist/staff. We told them it was our Wedding Anniversay at check in and we were sent up a little fruit/truffle/macaroon platter to our room compliments of the hotel!!! Great location too. Would definitely return in the future.

Nice Hotel, Few downsides

Posted 15-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
The Trafalgar was very impressive from the outside. The reception, bar and breakfast area all designed and finshed to a high quality. Room was spacious but unfortuantely the bathroom needed updating, it didnt fit with the rest of the high spec hotel. Room was clean, as a whole, but bins weren't empited, we were missing dressing gowns, room information booklet (including check out details, breakfast times etc). This was resolved when we spoke to the very helpful reception staff. No free Wifi in the room which was a downside as room had poor 4G connection. Only free in bar area. On a whole the stay was good, probabaly wouldnt stay again though as so many other options around this London area.

Pretty good stay in a modern and simple hotel.

Posted 02-Jan-2014
Pros: Location and the size of room.
Cons: The breakfast, which is important!
Location: Good for Houses of Parliament, the Palaces, Horseguards, the Abbey, the Ballet, and the Theatre. You'll also get to wake up next to Nelson's Column.
Nice stay overall, good location, reasonable price for a four star given the location. Booked through Expedia, but had to prove breakfast was included at check-in, so take that print-out! There is a Charing Cross Underground subway pratically outside the hotel, in front of Cafe Nero. Standard room booking doesn't allow you to check-in early, but they were happy to take our bags at 11am and they were waiting for us in the room, if only they had called to tell us it was ready, as promised! We also left our bags the next day, so that we could walk around all day. Great for the ballet, which is less than five minutes walk. Great for the Palaces, we had a quick look on a very pleasant stroll around that area. Tube to Tate Britain or roughly 25 minutes walk, most of which is pleasant. The basement restaurant is a bit strange, it's kitted-out a bit like a nightclub, but I'm not sure what else would have been suitable, given that it's a Hilton and they stick to standard stuff for obvious reasons. The cooked breakfast is best avoided, which was a huge disappointment, given that we had hoped to be well fortified by it! It was very dry and the ingredients were poor. The pastries on the other hand were very good and there's a decent selection of fruits and cereals etc. Overall, I'm glad we stayed there and we made best use of the location, but I probably wouldn't stay again; entirely personal taste, I prefer a bit of traditional charm.
