Our overall stay was quite nice. The hotel aims to operate at a 5 star level which of course has it's challenges in Africa. The pool was closed for repairs and they were building additional structure to the lobby/pool area but kept the construction contained to the area. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. It was a very nice stay. No free internet, but not expensive. Nice spa and workout room. The work-out room was a bit aging but well equipped for a smaller city in Africa. Older equipment, but quite usable.

This hotel is comfortable with clean bright rooms that are well maintained. Food is also OK. The reception staff need to be a bit more alert and not chatter when guests are waiting for attention. The "Business centre" is not what I xpected as I had to wait for hotal staff to stop using it and it is not available after 8.00pm. The very time business travellers might be glad of it.
Woodlands (formerly Sanctuary Lodge) offers a bushland setting which is very relaxing. The chalets, pool and dining area are very good and staff are helpful. The wild life sanctuary next door is definitely worth a visit. Good to wake up to lions roaring; you forget you are in Malawi's capital city!
We needed a night's lodging in Lilongwe before getting to the plane the next day. We were greeted pleasantly and given a very comfortable large room. We enjoyed the breakfast on the veranda looking out on the lovely grounds. Over all a very pleasant experience for us.
I stayed at the Korea Lodge for 5 nights in September. I had reserved a single, and I got a large, but old, room with 2 beds, a desk, a closet, and a bathroom. The building is old and not totally maintained (especially the bathroom), but I was comfortable, and the staff was very nice. A good breakfast, while repetitive, was satisfactory with eggs cooked to order. Dinner menu is limited. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and it is secured by a wall and locked security gate with guard 24/7. Although I was told not to walk alone into town on weekends, I walked a few times during the week, and I had no problem. There is a fairly large pool with tables and chairs and a bar that is good. There is a large room with a flat screen tv for guests near the pool. Most of the time there was a very nice breeze
