Good Family Friendly Hotel

Posted 29-Jul-2014
A clean child friendly hotel with a helpful team of staff. Limited choice of food for strict vegetarians but we got by OK during our 2 weeks stay. The kids (3 and 5) loved the mini club and the mascot, "Daisy". The beach is a 20 min walk whick is a scenic experience along the sea. Would recommend to families with young children.

Very Noisy Hotel

Posted 28-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Only stayed one night but had a very poor night sleep with shouting and other noise well into the early hours. The room was large and well decorated but had no soundproofing whatsoever. It looked like there were newer sections to this hotel which could well be better.

Key trouble

Posted 24-Apr-2014
Pros: Location and maintenance
Cons: Tap water for drinking could be provided.reception staff need training.
Location: Timanfaya bus trip was the high light. Submarine safari and lanzata boat trip are very expensive and waste of time.
We just returned home after satisfactory stay at h10 rubicon palace. Our room keys stopped working frequently which was very annoying and inconvenient food was ok not great. Staff tried their best but they need training in customer service. As per their advice I took taxi from airport which cost me 53 euros. It costed 20 euros by shuttle minibus from last minute travel, for return journey. You have to book it by phone.

Nice hotel, rooms in what look like villas.

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: The rooms are spread out over a large area, so, although there were a lot of people staying there, it never felt overcrowded.
Cons: More staff at reception possibly, there were times when only 2 staff were on duty, and lots of people required attention.
Location: The hotel is situated approx 30 min walk from Playa Blanca along a promenade, anything else is a bus or car ride away.
Very clean, well run hotel. Staff were helpful, only slight problem we had, was, being just room and breakfast, getting to know how the system worked, ie, restaurants ,bars, etc, took a while to get used to. Otherwise, a very enjoyable stay.

Great food and facilities

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: Food and children's facilities.
Cons: The temperature of the pools. Brrr.
Location: There isn't a beach at this hotel as such but a 15 minute walk along the 'boardwalk' takes you to Flamingo beach which is really lovely. Great sand.
We booked this hotel due to the pool options really as they had a couple of heated pools. In the end it turned out even the 'heated' pools were just a bit too cold to use. We have a 3 year old son so I ended up in the pool, with him in a wetsuit, each day but only for about 10 minutes a day. But that said the pools would have been the same everywhere I think. The only grip would be the mattress that we had. Uncomfortable and not thick enough really. But that's the only downside. The rest of this hotel is fabulous. The food is always a big concern at hotels when you're half board and this was one of the best hotels for that that I've been too. A really good selection and you also get to go for a 6 course set meal in the Italian on one of your nights. They have all the facilities, the staff are excellent and we'd definitely recommend it.

Overnight stay

Posted 05-Apr-2014
Pros: Everything was well kept
Cons: Change beds. Mattresses very noisy when turning whilst sleeping
Location: Nice promenade type walks. Reasonably flat and a walk to the lighthouse for the sunset.
Stayed for one night only. Amazing reception area and very helpful polite staff. Very large "complex" catering for all ages. Grounds and facilities all in immaculate condition(having been in a different part of lanzarote for the previous week it was nice to smell the newly cut grass!) Glad we arrived early for breakfast as the dining area soon filled up. Good selection tho.. It's unlikely we will be back in lanzarote but if we were to return I would have no hesitation is staying at this hotel.

Great All-Inslucive Hotel

Posted 19-Feb-2014
This was our second stay at the Rubicon and again found the service and especially the food to be of the same high standard. The staff in the restaurant worked exceptionally hard to keep all the foods replenished and tables cleared at all times and they all deserve praise for their hard work,we visited over the school half term so the hotel was fairly busy. We were allocated a room in the smaller perimeter blocks which was nice and peaceful and cleaned regularly. The only small niggle was that the wi-fi wasn't that great, it was restricted to reception and pool area and was a bit difficult to get onto.

Pros: The staff were so willing to help, nothing was to much trouble. Service with a smile. There where lots of lovely places to sit, swim or laze around.
Location: There is a path that leads from the gardens right the way along the coast for miles which is also wheel chair friendly. The local bus stops outside.
Having spent 6 weeks in a villa over Christmas & New Year we booked our last night in the hotel, it was just perfect, plus we were lucky enough to be given an upgrade to their Privilege rooms. There is so much to do on the complex for all ages, you could be temped never to leave the hotel and miss out this wonderful Island of Lanzarote. We look forward to returning to this hotel next year for a longer stay.
