Great view for Lausanne

Posted 01-Oct-2014
Pros: The TV, the balcony, the shower and the bed. All really good.
Cons: Option to turn off the english subtitles even when watching english channels like BBC1, very odd.
Location: Hotel is 100m from the Metro, easy to get down to Ouchy and the Lake. It also backs onto the shopping area!
This was a last minute booking and my primary reason was location, the hotel is close to the city centre but not to far from the station, if you know Lausanne it's built on the side of a hill and De La Paix is very central. I took a lake view room..well why not when you look at Lake Geneva with the French alps in the background, which was very good. The bits that matter were excellent and I didn't walk miles to find the room :)

Nice Hotel

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff.
Location: Within walking distance of the old town and Cathedral. Close to a Metro station.
Paid extra for a room overlooking Lake Geneva and the Alps. Even though the road outside the hotel was noisy at times sitting on the balcony and admiring the view was well worth paying the extra for. Room was spacious with a fridge and a nice bathroom.

Quiet and clean

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Very clean, comfortable and quiet hotel. Staff were almost invisible. The only problem was the shower. Water gets out on the bathroom floor. Large rooms. Fridge and a kettle in our room was a good help. Good location.

Red Carpet Inn

The hotel was fine. We were looking for a cheap place to sleep. It is close to Philadelphia, you do have to pay a $4 toll to cross into Pennsylvania; though coming back to New Jersey there is no toll. The sheets and towels were clean, but we did wear flip flops in the shower.
