“Super Night Spot for a convenient spot.”
The Ritz it is not, but pick this in the low season, as we did, the staff were pleasant helpful, and polite, dealing with us quickly and efficiently. The room on our budget was good comfortable, clean and warm. The window opened so you could get plenty of fresh air too. The break fast is particularly good value considering the variety of items available. Local bars and restaurants means there is food available outside the premises if that is what you desire. If you are on a work trip, or a 1 or 2 night visit, and don't want to pay a fortune, you would be hard tested to beat this place for lots of reasons. We will use it again.
“Good breakffast, good service and very nice pool”
The hotel was very professionally run and all the public areas were clean and smart. Our room was a bit tired but always clean and perfectly comfortable. We were lucky to have excellent weather and spent the afterneoons by the outdoor pool. On the day when the weather was less kind we went into the indoor pool and the jacuzzi and they were both great. . We were bed and breaksfast and although we don't usually care for buffets, the breakfast was good and the food was hot and freshly cooked. There was an free car park within the hotel grounds. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
“Comfortable, friendly and ideally situated.”
Although the decor could do with a revamp, this hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and more than happy to help. The room was ideal, clean private bathroom the double bed was queen size due to putting 2 singles together and was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and there was a large choice for all tastes. I especially liked the lounge bar to enjoy a pint of guinness to end the evening! The neighbourhood was safe and walking to the shops was easy and only took 5mins. If you just want a comfortable hotel in walking distance to shops, this is perfect. It's not lavish and the rooms are not big my room did not have a fridge or mini bar but I would stay there again.
“ideal location”
The hotel was well situated for access to the town centre . The staff very pleasant and helpful . The breafast was buffet syle , and had a large selecion , which catered for all taste . There was an option of lunch and dinner if this was required, although we ate out, the menu had a good selection and was reasonably priced. The outdoor pool was well situated , but be careful it is a sun trap and protected from the wind and we did get caught out by the strenght of the sun. The decor of the rooms was a bit dated , but overall clean and well maintained . There is also an indoor pool , if the weather is not good, towels are provided. The only downside, was that there wasn't much soundproofing between rooms and the shower from the next room could be heard and the guests above our room were up early and every footstep could be heard . There is good selection of bars and places to eat within walking distance. Would stay again and for the price and location, was good value .l
“"nice break"”
The Apollo is nice hotel the staff are the very helpful. food excellent breakfast caters for everyone. would definatly go back.
“Apollo Hotel, St. Hellier, Jersey”
A comfortable hotel with staff that couldn't do enough to help. Good food. 5 minutes walk from centre of town.
“Allround winner”
This hotel was in a great location. Short walk to the seafront and ideal for the town centre. The gym was small but adequate but equipment a little dated. Quality of food very good. Hotel was about 10 minutes walk from the bus station which is in the middle of the town. Would recommend this hotel to any one wishing to have a base for sightseeing or just total relaxing.
“would go back”
nice hotel and the breakfast was very nice, unfortunately our room was very noisy had to have the windows open as the room was boiling hot, and we overlooked the road, but would go back but would have to have a quieter room.
“value for money”
the room was a good size but a bit tired, a broken tile in the bathroom, dirty curtains, the pillow smelled of greasy hair. Our room was on the third floor and the lift to that part of the hotel was very small, only really big enough for one so the stairs needed to be used. They provided tea and coffee facilities and a hairdryer which was a bonus. The breakfast was excellent, loads of choice and lots of it but the evening meal left a lot to be desired, the a la carte menu was very poor, we paid £2.50 for a small dish of frozen veg! The hotel has two swimming pools, one indoor and one out which looked very good but we didn't use them. The hotel location was really good, a short walk from the town centre. The Apollo is a brilliant hotel to use as a base if you are out sightseeing, great value for money.
“'faded splendour' but very comfortable & welcoming”
Hotel had good amenities (our room had balcony overlooking pool) Comfortable bed. Plenty Tea & coffee provided with kettle in room . Staff were all pleasant & helpful. Food very good. Easy walk to shops and harbour. Fair sized car park. Luggage room available to leave suitcases after check out so could walk about until time to catch ferry home. Would definitely return.
