It was an Amazing Great Hotel whit so much tiny Little Details in the Rooms. The Lounge was quite comfortable and relaxing for enjoing and Drinking some coffe. The personel Really friendly

Lovely quiet break on Herm

Lovely hotel on Herm, although no other option ;) Hotel prides itself on being quiet and was very quiet apart from when (most likely) a staff member was playing their urban choons across the way from us. Our room had a partial sea view and I enjoyed a lovely bath. Could've been more generous with the biscuits. Literally, tiny individually wrapped shortbreads as big as a 1p piece, or smaller. Water wasn't replenished each day in the room. The staff were great, and breakfast included a wide spread, as well as a cooked to order hot breakfast. The bar area was lovely with many different areas for relaxing on sofas etc, and a fire, although I didn't see that lit. Adding this because it is what I wanted to know before arriving - the hotel is very near to the main harbour so most people should be able to transport their bags to the hotel from there (although the quad bike & trailer can also bring bags up), but if the tide is too low, the boat will dock at the Rosaire steps, a 5/10 min walk from the hotel. Again, the path is sandy gravel so is do-able, but many will probably put their bags on the quad bike/trailer for delivery to the hotel. On the way back you can label your bag with your boat departure time and leave it at the hotel, and they will bring it to the dock before the boat departs.

Beautiful setting

Stay was amazing, the fact that the White House has no televisions in the rooms is a great plus. Totally relaxing, lovely staff, beautiful setting.

Short Herm stay

Based on an amazing island, The White House offers hotel and self catering options. This time we stayed on the hotel but would likely go for the self catering option next time for added space.

Ein Kleinod, wirkliches „hidden gem“

Anreise: etwas mühsam, in der Regel per Flugzeug über London oder Manchester nach Guernsey, das letzte Stück mit dem Schiff von St. Peter Port nach Herm (ca. 20 Minuten Überfahrt); wer genügend Zeit mitbringt, für den empfiehlt sich daher eine Kombination mit London und/oder Guernsey Lage: Herm ist die kleinste bewohnte und öffentlich zugängliche Kanalinsel, zeichnet sich durch wunderschöne Natur mit Klippen als auch tollen Sandstränden aus, Inselumrundung zu Fuß in 2 Stunden machbar, aber Stress ist auf Herm ein Fremdwort, es geht ruhig zu und absolute Erholung fernab jeden Rummels ist garantiert, da stören die Tagestouristen, die spätestens mit dem letzten Boot um 16:35 die Insel verlassen, überhaupt nicht Hotel: das im Stil einer Privatresidenz direkt am Meer errichtete Hotel ist von einer sehr schönen Parkanlage umgeben, mit Pool, Tennisplatz und schönen Sitzgelegenheiten; die Schiffsanlegestelle befindet sich direkt vor dem Haus Einrichtung: sehr gediegen, in den Lounges und an der Bar brennen gemütliche Kaminfeuer; im Haus 2 Bars und 2 Restaurants Küche: gepflegte Speisen und Menüs, allerdings nicht ganz billig, dazu eine umfangreiche Weinkarte; wem das nicht behagt, der kann in den benachbarten Mermaid Pub ausweichen, dort geht es wesentlich informeller zu Zimmer: unterschiedliche Kategorien im Haupthaus oder benachbarten Cottages, dabei gibt es große Preisunterschiede; alle Zimmer sehr sauber; es gibt weder Fernseher noch Telefon, das garantiert Ruhe!

Take a day trip instead

Herm is a tiny remote island with little infrastructure. The White House Hotel is old, the room we had was small and in need of update. That said the service, food and ambiance in the old hotel were all fine. Perhaps we were allocated a poor room (15) by comparison to others but on that experience I couldn’t recommend it . . .

A little piece of paradise

We have visited Herm on many occasions, but this was our first overnight. Lovely to be in the hotel. A nice room and beautifully appointed hotel. 3 different restaurants to eat in. A magical feeling as the last Guernsey boat departs and you know you are "on your own" for the night. Lovely bar and restaurants, excellent food and the Mermaid pub just a short stroll away. Great walks on the island, we saw the Puffins. A wonderful breakfast enjoying the beautiful view across to Guernsey with a cruise ship moored in between us.
