The location was great. But what I really liked about it was the bed was so comfortable super soft, The TV was a roku TV. So you had internet and you could use your netflix and other streaming apps, which is hard to find here on the island. I highly recommend this place. So i'm definitely gonna stay here again

This is an older property with older fixtures and furnishings that do show a bit of wear. The AC did a good job keeping the room cool. The TV worked and the shower was hot. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor and there are several bar / restaurants in close proximity so noise can be a problem if you go to bed early. All in all we had a very comfortable two night stay and would gladly stay here again.

It’s an old room the bathroom is very old the linens were old everything was old. It’s not expensive but it’s not cheap either the next morning you could hear the kitchen stsff no big deal it is after all above a restaurant, so I went down stairs to get a cup of coffee. No coffee the coffe pot was sitting right there empty. Oh well it was just a one night stay and that was plenty. It could be good with a little clean up and customer service.

A tall glass of freshly squeezed orange juice every day! That alone was worth the small cost to have breakfast included. The breakfast wasn't super-filling but perfect for me, and I loved the fresh fruit too. Miguel in the restaurant was super-friendly and allowed us to store our bags there on our last day. The room was clean, the bed was very comfy, and although you here the noise from the restaurant it shuts down at a reasonable time and we slept well. This is a very cute spot right on the walking street/main drag in town. Definitely recommend!

Great place overall if you're on a budget. It smells like firewood pizza as you walk out of your room. So for some like me it was great maybe not so much for others. Besides that. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and the AC worked great. The internet is not the greatest but works. Great place overall.

The location was central with nothing being more than 3 block walk from the hotel. It is a rustic hotel and not a resort it covers the trip essentials:clean, great location, cold A/C, free wifi, free bottled water daily, free breakfast and great bed / pillows for a low price.

Traditional property for the area. A lot of charm. Friendly staff, clean, and convenient. AC was ice cold, Hot water was HOT. Bed very comfortable. My room was on the third floor of the building and I had no issues with noise. The only thing I would have liked to have had would be a small refrigerator and maybe a microwave. Stairs could be tricky after a few margaritas, but what stairs are not. If I go back to the island, I would defiantly choose them again.

I want start by saying we stay at budget hotels every summer when we visit the Cancun area. With that said, we don't scare easily. This is the WORSE hotel we have ever stayed at. 1. Arrived at 2, and there was no one there until 3 because that's when check in is. 2. The girl is not very helpful at all! She explains NOTHING. Continental breakfast is included, we found out by accident on our last morning. There is a 300 peso deposit if you want to use the safe 3. Staircase is very narrow and difficult to carry your suitcases up/ down 4. They won't clean your room unless you put the sign (we weren't told, so no one cleaned the first day) 5. In room 25: no hot water, no shower curtain, the fan didn't work and air conditioner took a good hour to cool down 6. Not allowed to take the towels to the beach, we had to buy some. Towels were stiff, stained and smelled like the wood smoke coming from the restaurant because they store them on the roof top next to the exhaust. Overall, the room was dirty, especially the bathroom. The tile in the shower was full of soap scum. The location is awesome, right in the middle of restaurants, bars and stores. Right next door is Imperial Hotel that looks way better.

Located on top of Rolandi’s restaurant and at the centre of the action, this clean hotel manages to keep a quiet atmosphere for its guests while being close to all the great Isla Mujeres dining and drinking spots

I loved the Belmar perfect location for one to be right in the heart of the island. You can walk to the playas and the back way that is calming. The restaurants are all close range. The Emmaculate Conception church is one block down . Stay was easy quite and comfortable. Great place if you are in search for peace of mind and stillness.

Hotel is in a great location. Stores and restaurants just steps away. Rolandis restaurant is on the property and has great Italian food with wood fire oven. The room had newer ac unit that worked great. It had a small balcony. It did take the water some time to get hot water in shower, but never ran out. Hotel staff were nice and accommodating. It is in a busy area, so can be noisy during day and early evening. No elevator on property. The stairs are steep, and different sizes, so maybe difficult to navigate for disabled or elderly

Noisy Pricey Place
This hotel was probably amazing back in the day. Today it's worn down. Our room had windows that faced a busy noisy street and a balcony that faced a noisy interior courtyard. The headboard fell off the wall. Bathroom and shower needs some updating. Way too expensive for what it us. I also prepaid for breakfast but no one explained what was included in that so we had to pay for the egg entrees we ate.

For the price. It is great
It was at a great location, very spacious and had all you needed. It was dated thought, and meeded some fixes and upgrades, specially in the bathroom. But for that price, can you ask much more?

Great Value for Good location.
Good value no resort type frills option in the centre of the tourist area. Large TV with Netflix very nice to have as well as a safe in the room. Staff vey friendly. Daily housekeeping including Sunday. Generally a good value option for those not wanting to pay beach resort level of prices.

Nice clean place, right in the heart of Isla mujeres, only problem, if you get a room at the front of the hotel, is the noise, really loud between the hours of 1600 hours and midnight. The rest of it was nice.

The property is completely run down and the number of poor repair jobs greatly out weighs the items in good condition. It’s completely rundown and everywhere you turn there is something in need of an upgrade or a poorly repaired item. Faucets that mounts are not tight and turn when you use them. Bad caulk jobs. Worn out tiles. Slow drains. Missing security safes. Bed frames that aren’t properly assembled or broken. Poorly repaired toilets which leak at the base and emit smells. Towels and linens that are in terrible shape and need replacement. This property is no longer cared for the way it had been and that’s obvious. It’s a shame because a few years ago it was very charming and quite nice. Now it’s more like a rundown motel or hostel. Unfortunate. The staff are amazing and did what they could within their ability to improve our experience. Thank you for to them. We are appreciative to them all.

We were looking for a place to stay for less than $80US on short notice during the very busy year end holidays. This hotel met our needs. The room was clean, everything worked, check in and out were normal. We knew it was in the middle of the action, but noise was bearable and the hotel had taken steps to mitigate it. Yes the room was a bit tired, but it met our expectations.

Isla trip
The stay was okay, but do not expect to sleep. Very busy street full of nightlife since you will be close by bars. Then since you are above a restaurant you will hear all the noise from guests and staff with no break. Hot water and cold air was provided despite other reviews. As soon as we walked in and turned on the lights, cockroaches scattered. Bed was clean, no problems, very cheap - last minute stay.

We loved the hotel, the location was perfect! Hotel Belmar is a traditional Mexican hotel - we were very pleased. Staff was friendly, and helpful - it was our first trip to Isla Mujeres - looking forward to returning.

Great boutique setting. I had a suite on level 3 and it was quaint, clean and super old skool in a grand way. Cute little kitchenette with coffe maker and pots pans for cooking. Imagine Hemingway in Cuba... That kind of property. Rolandis is situated directly below of which the staff and food are amazing. Located in the heart of downtown coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, live music and all that entails at your doorstep. Beds were cozy and noise on the third level was minimal during the day.... At night it was peaceful quiet after 11. Would stay again with zero worries. It's likely more for seasoned travelers! If your looking to be pampered or are a whiny tourist you best stick to the resorts.

We very much liked the location; the food choice & quality was very good for both breakfast and dinner. The hotel was clean but, there was no hot water for showers (both in the morning and at the end of our beach day after 5pm), and whenever we ran water at the bathroom sink and the shower, the output lines were leaking from somewhere onto the bathroom floor.

awesome place
Location was perfect, room was very comfortable, big smart tv, the AC unit kept the room at perfect temperature, there is a convenience store beside the hotel open 24/7.

Good Mexican basic hotel..
Basic hotel but priced as such. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms clean, safe. Water pressure was a bit of an issue on the top floor, not as much on the second floor ( we had rooms on both floors over two weeks). Staff helpful, they seem to work the restaurant as well as the hotel. There is considerable noise from the restaurant at night, though it does quiet down after midnight. The morning crew setting up starts very early, you'll hear that. This noise wasn't an issue on the top floor, above the atrium roof. Hotel price is in line with what you get. I'd stay there again.

Heart of the action
We have zero complaints about staying at Hotel Belmar. Although it is a part of Rolandi's Restaurant and ours was the only room you had to access by walking through the dinning area, the staff never made us feel badly or uncomfortable about cutting through. They always greeted us kindly. The rest of the suites use an easily accessible side staircase. There was often loud evening entertainment of mariachi bands or musicians. But we were either out, or enjoying it with our door open if home or could barely here it with the door closed. And that's what you should be in Isla for.... a full fiesta of Mexican fun! Our room was well maintained, great a/c, well working WiFi and comfortable beds. We particularly loved the walk in closet to tuck away all our clothes and the balcony was HUGE with a hot tub..... which of course we did not need to fill with +28 daily weather!!
