I work in another hotel so my expectations for the place weren’t high especially after a typhoon. So I’m not suprised that certain things in the hotel is out of order. What I did expect is a certain amount clear communication between guest and staff. Keep in mind I called a day ahead of time before making the booking asking about the laundry/gym/pool and was told that it was ALL working. (Which in fact wasn’t. Laundry-All the dryers were out of order. Pool-Out of order. Gym-Not all equipment was working.) so that was a bit disappointing given that I was told that is was working which in fact wasn’t. Aside from that my family and I did love the room, the floor by floor parking, the kids playroom, and the fact that the place was near boonies. So that gave the kids entertainment enough.

The royal orchid, one hotel has always been my go to hotel when visiting Guam. I have noticed over the years that the hotel is that a rundown state. Upon check in I was greeted with a very warm and welcoming staff. Very kind and professional. We checked into our 1st room (#636) as we started to settle in I saw a small roach on the floor and killed. When I opened the refrigerator to place beverages multiple roaches of various sizes came out of the cabinet the refrigerator was in. I immediately went back down and requested for another room which they did accommodate without any issues. We were able to inspect the roomand was assisted by staff moving from one room to the other. During our stay in that room (#606) we did not encounter any roaches until we were gathering our belongings to checkout. A roach was crawling on the restroom mirror. That was the last straw for me. I will never stay there again due to the lack of care. There is clearly an infestation. Very Unfortunate.
