“So - So .. Needs an Update”
First stayed at this hotel 5 years ago. Last stayed in Oct 2011. Not much has visibly changed. Needs new carpeting in all the common areas. Advertises a fitness room - has three machines total and none of them worked. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Restaurant and cafe on premises had good food and service. peter canada
“Very noisy surrounding”
This hotel is located in the middle of one of the busiest downtown streets. My room was on the second floor facing the street and it was VERY noisy all night wuth traffic sound. The restaurant food was one of the worst hotel foods we have tasted. The hotel restaurant food was same; very poorly prepared and not much taste (my order was fish filet). The room service for the breakfast was no good either. The portion was very small. The American breakfast came with one egg and one spoonful of refried bean, and some rolls. Only good thing was that the concierge staff was willing to take us to the airport in the morning. He earned a good tip. The room was big (junior suite) and the bed was very comfortable but the location was terrible.
“Great location and service”
It was a great experience. Staff was excellent. and very understanding Our first night was not pleasant because the room was close to the service elevator but they gave another excellent room for the next 3 days. The restaurant has good and inexpensive food and the location was the best. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.
“Best all around in Guadalajara”
Chose this hotel based on Frommers travel guide. They were right. Out of curiosity, went out to the bar at the Intercontinental. It's no better, plus it's in the middle of nowhere.
“If i ever go back Im defenetly staying here!!!”
Great Hotel, everybody is always available for what ever needs we have!!
“Excellent location and very comfortable beds”
This is not your typical Holiday Inn. It is a fine hotel located in the best possible location in Guadalajara. Less than 2 blocks from the Cathedral and the mall walk. The beds are very comfortable and the standard rooms are more than roomy enough. The carpets and furnishings are beginning to show wear a little, but will be fine for another year or so. The staff are very helpful. The hotel restaurant is nothing great, but it is ok. I would gladly return to this hotel even though both the elevator and the hot water were not working for one day of our stay. (Surely this maintenance is now out of the way so that your stay will not be inconvenienced.) The surrounding neighbourhood is a little noisy, but we had no trouble sleeping in the comfy bed. Internet is, as reported, amazingly slow and the electronic room controls on the LCD screen are annoying at best.
“Our hotel of choice in Guadalajara”
This is the second time we have stayed there, and will go back again -- friendly staff who speak English, very nice room, and good service. My only complaint is that I wish our room could have been cleaned earlier in the day.
“GDL downtown Holiday Inn”
I will defently book this hotel every time I go to Gudalajara, Mx. The only part that was a bit slow was internet service. I am used to something much faster than what they provide.
“A great value and location”
A wonderful, well-staffed hotel 2 blocks from the main square and 3 blocks to the opera house, a major cultural center in Guadalajara. I strongly recommend this hotel to international and Mexican travelers. We were greeted with a glass of wine, the first time at any hotel outside of Hawaii. We had a problem with a "leaky" toilet that was resolved immediately, while we were walking in the main plaza. The hotel is close to everything a Guadalajara visitor may want to see and do. We had our own car which was valet parked and always delivered quickly and with a pleasant greeting. Ignore the negative comments about the location of the hotel. In every major city experienced travelers must always take care at night and not "push the window." My only negative; there are no really close, good restaurants. A short travel ride will take you to Las Chilaquiles for wonderful Guadalajara food. A more upscale recommendation is La Vaca Argentina, reservations here would be good, but not necessary. Stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel Centro Guadalajara, the value is well worth the money.
“Great place to stay”
After you stay here you will probably never be satisfied with customer service anywhere else ever again. Everyone I encountered at this hotel, whether it was front desk, breakfast staff, back offfice or the bellboys, everyone was incredibly friendly and highly professional. It was a pleasure to walk through the lobby as each time you would receive a genuinely friendly greeting that always cheered me up. The hotel itself is clean and well cared for, although the fitness room was fairly basic. When business brings me back to Guadalajara - this hotel will always be my choice from here on in.
