“Nice hotel in a nice place!”

Nice hotel, wonderful pool areas, extremely clean, rooms furnished a bit on the minimum side, no desk, no fridge, no mini-bar. Breakfast buffet did not have all those many choices I am used to at a Sheraton! Local o.k. if you are not afraid to take the cheap bus to the old town. Beach very narrow, more pebbles than sand. Still, for what we paid, a good value for what you got, would stay there again. Service was first-class in the restaurants and at the pool or in the bar but they are extremely pushy about their time-shares and without a firm "NO" they'll bother you about it every day!

Area recommendations

Food is good pretty much everywhere but the boardwalk or Malecon is more pricey. As soon as you wander away from it, prices drop quite a bit without sacrificing quality.

Shopping

The Mexicans are extremely aggressive, their constant following you and talking to you takes the fun out of shopping!

“Would Return in a Second / first rate hotel”

I use expedia to book hotels at least 30 times a year and have never written a review. However we were so impressed here you go. We have Been to the area a few times and this was by far the best hotel we have stayed in. The staff were excellent and engaged, you could not fault them. In fact we will return to this hotel (a first for me) and the major reason is the staff then the hotel and location.. The upper floor room we had came with a perfect view of the pool and ocean. I would not normally say this but i would go all inclusive as the meals were fantastic and often la cart.

“Great location and staff”

Fantastic location if you want a better standard of accomodation not too far from town. All public buses go past the Sheraton so a wait for a bus will only be about 30 seconds and cost less than $AU1. The aircon in room is very noisy though, the only complaint, otherwise amazing sunsets, and very friendly staff

“A really good value for your money .”

We booked the hotel as a air/hotel package from Expedia. For the discount we recieved we found it to be a great bargain. Had a nice room with a view of the ocean and pool areas and great to wake up in the morning and just open the windows and enjoy the view. I recommend all inclusive if you are eating and drinking often at the hotel on your stay. I am coming back the beginning of next year for a family get together. The only thing we encountered that was negative was a meal we had ordered for dinner one night. Tried the Tortilla Soup....It was by far the worst I have ever encountered and we both stopped eating when my son found a toothpick in his soup.... We showed it to our waitress and she would not discount our meal at all. Poor customer relations in this area.

“Very dissatisfied.”

1. Although it is on the beach, there is no usable beach, just rocks and pebbles; beach is completely useless. Here we are in PV for the water, yet we cannot swim or even walk on the beach in front of the hotel. If you want a hotel with no beach, but pay the price of a hotel with beach, then choose this. But that is a rip off. We moved out and went to the Marriott which was about the same price, but much much much better. 2. The reception staff tried to charge us more because our kids were over 16, although we had previously specified the ages when we made the reservation. 3. They tried to sell us on timeshare, something one should not expect in a reputable hotel. 4. The rooms had no balcony. 5. The rooms were not that nice, compared to the Marriott.

Area recommendations

Marina is nicer and cleaner than the location of the Sheraton.

“Great Location, nice amenities.”

“incredible deal from expedia!”

My boyfriend and i just got back from a 5 day/4 night stay at the Sheraton PV. The location was perfect! 25 min walk into the old town where we wandered around all day and went back at night for dinners. The hotel itself was great. Definitely get a room with a balcony. Stunning grounds, stunning unobstructed view of the pool and ocean from our room/balcony. We did not eat at the hotel so i can't comment on the food. The mega store is down the street and we bought a cooler to keep drinks and snacks in our room. Hotel staff could have been a little warmer, but i was happy we were not once approached about timeshares. Do not plan on going to PV for the beaches (rocky shore, not the cleanest water), but for the weather, wonderful town, people and food!

Definitely check out: Burrito Revolution for lunch La Palapa on the water for a romantic dinner Melissa's (near Si Senior's) for another very tasty intimate dinner!

“Excellent location!”

Within walking distance of downtown Vallarta and the Malecon. Very nice rooms, excellent view, fabulous pools. Only downside is that the restaurants and events are way overpriced for what you get! You can get fabulous dinners within 5 minute walk for 1/2 the cost! You definitely have to try a restaurant called Cuetos for excellent fresh seafood dinners!!! Totally outstanding at a reasonable price.
