Overall ok ,food was of poor quality ,too much fried or deep fried , hot plates were not hot , all food that was supposed to be hot was like warm at best. The facilities were generally good , pools , terrace es and furniture,general outside areas, and clean and litter free,however ,lots of cats around ,and in the heat a pungent smell of cat poo around gardens . Drinks in all cases were poor quality. Rooms were spacious and the bathroom had shower and baths in them . Overall would not book again , needs to improve food / drinks standards and quality

Lovely resort. Handy for Meloneras and Playa. Could have done with an Adult Only pool. Breakfast and lunch were great. Wasn’t impressed with the dinner selection.

Worth a visit!
What a lovely few days at the Koala. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The rooms were of a good size, and very clean throughout. The food was ok, plenty of variety for each meal. The service at the bar was good. The drinks were of course not 'premium brands' being an all inclusive hotel. Was a little disappointed that the cocktails were ready made in boxes. Would have been nice for them to be prepared at the time. A shame that there were not more tables and chairs around the bar area outside. The high tables were plenty, but the stools are hardly comfortable! The proximity to the roads made for a little noise coming from the traffic, but nothing too bad. I would definitely visit again though, and especially at this time of year to get some winter sun.

Lovely stay
Lovely hotel. Quiet and tranquil location with nice accommodation set in different “zones” with only 2 levels. Only faults are that food was not very hot and drinks served in paper cups with cocktails from a pump so doesn’t feel very luxurious.

Staff are fabulous and very accommodating the hotel is very clean animation team excellent. I think the hotel needs to invest in a larger area for the pool bar it is very small for the size of the hotel

The apartments and poolside areas. However entertainment was poor with nothing for adults. The pool bar wasn’t great and the only food options were left overs from meal times. Could have been more choice during meal times as well

On our arrival to the room, we noticed the shower was dirty (paint was peeling off the walls and there was mould in the shower) we reported this to the hotel and they said they would send somebody over but nobody came... we also had cockroaches in our bathroom. Not something I was looking for. The room itself wasn’t the cleanest either, the lamp shades had lots of dust and webs on them same with the skirting boards. Wardrobes were clean just had a weird smell. The beds were also clean but so firm we slept on our duvets. The curtains in the room has blood on them (I’m asuming it’s from the mosquitos people have killed) and they had not been washed which wasn’t so nice. The hotel also claims that they feed the cats (says it on the information papers they give you when you check in, but when we talked to some staff, they said they used to feed the cats but they no longer do so. Bowls were empty and dirty so we were feeding the cats when we stayed. Food was alright overall. Breakfast was always the same, lunch and dinners differed. There were times where the food was cold or missing but that’s due to lack of staff, not the chefs fault. Same in the beach bar, every day the food mostly the same. And after around 5pm there was no more hot dogs or burgers, just ham and cheese toasties. Don’t think the hotel deserves the 4* compared to other hotels we have stayed at with the same star rating have had better standards, food and overall experience.

Overall the koala garden was excellent. Food was particularly good. Though... A week of it was plenty, beer and wine were particularly good. Staff were excellent. But woe betide you if you get caught feeding any of the cats that are running round your feet in the outside dining area. Swimming pool hours were draconian, which was a shame as I like to swim before breakfast and when I get back after a day out. The area is a bit sparse, so unless you want to stay at the hotel and not go out much... Be prepared for some long walks or hire a car

Defo will come back to Koala Garden, my son and I had an amazing days there! 100% recommended for a family break, the kids have lots of activities to have fun and also adults. The food was very good and a lovely staff!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was a bit cautious regarding other reviews e.g. restaurant always being full & having to sit outside and be inundated with cats. We never struggled and saw a maximum of 6 cats the whole stay. Food was delicious and hot each meal - never had a boiling hot meal on a buffet style meal before so never expected it to be boiling. We both thoroughly enjoyed all meals. Room was modern and clean.

Fantastic all-inclusive hotel experience
Hotel Koala Garden was a fantastic place to stay for our 4 night winter sunshine getaway. Never having experienced all-inclusive before we couldn't fault it. The service was fantastic, all the food was very tasty and the bar was great. All drinks were proper measures and the help-yourself soft drinks and snacks was very welcome. All the staff were really friendly and geuniely wanted to help and the whole complex was spotlessly clean. Our room was spacious with a balcony, my only complaint would be that as all the rooms faced the central pool and entertainment area, getting to sleep in the evening if you weren't involved in the entertainment was tricky because of the noise. But otherwise a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend.

Great hotel, good service and choice.
Our first visit to Gran Canaria we found this hotel at a reasonable price, it's a 20/30 minute walk to the main resorts and beaches, however it has good facilities on site and there is a (limited) free bus shuttle to the beach. I've never done all-inclusive before and was pleasantly surprised with the variety and selection of food and drinks available. The menu options for lunch and dinner changed every day, all food was fresh and continually restocked. The drinks selections included cocktails. There are a number of pools on site plus many sun loungers, it was off season so not too busy. The staff we dealt with were all friendly, we checked in late (around 2200) and received a welcome box with sandwiches, fruit and juice. Holiday world theme park is just 5 mins walk away although it only opens limited hours. Would stay again and would recommend.

Great food selections .. always looked forward to my meals. Lovely ambience, staff very friendly. Wifi is very good in rooms plus base location and is free including the room safe. As a recommendation: Hotel should have bigger/more clear signs for recycling towels and paper/plastic cups etr. Plastics kills the planet and recycling save us more money. Would recommend this Hotel

Nice hotel but a long way from the sea front. Unfortunately all inclusive is killing the island, we found shopping centres and water parks boarded up (not just for the winter, locals have gone bankrupt). People are just not leaving their all inclusive hotels. A different story on the sea front, high end shops and good facilities.

Wonderful Hotel, we have had all inclusive, food plentiful, all day long cocktails, loved the Mojito, 7 pools, hotel kept well clean,very quiet Air Con, one of the quietest ones we had, good night sleep ,hotel staff ensured everyone was being catered and look after , excellent shower, everything great and fabulous, only hotel room internet a bit slow, but It did not affect the holiday whatsoever,thanks Koala Garden Hotels, would recommend 100 % to anyone

I have just returned from my visit to hotel koala and absolutely loved it!! The room was big and very clean plenty of options for breakfast lunch and dinner including the snacks throughout the day!! Staff were brilliant and always happy to help with booking taxis to the town/beach which is around €4 -€5. I have already. Been looking to return next year with my husband and son as we came on a girls holiday.

Amazing all Inclusive hotel.
Incredible all inclusive hotel with fantastic staff, non stop food and drink, great food, enormous rooms and so quiet too. Don’t usually do all inclusive but this place is a diamond! Well recommended!

Amazing 3 night break
Generally everything spot one. We had a amazing time! Pool area lovely with heated pool plenty of sun beds. Rooms spotless and spacious! Food was excellent and plenty of choice only down side was the snack bar food was uncovered and always cold! We would Defo stay here again in fact looking to book again in May!

Great hotel, friendly staff and very clean, would absolutely come back to this place in a heartbeat. Not the hotel's problem really but more of a social observation really, however the amount of 'supersized Brits' who gluttonously eat lavishly all day is not a good thing to watch.

Breakfast is definitely the best meal. Cooking things properly (fully cook the chicken, don't overcook the lamb) would make the food better. Most of the food seemed a bit cheap.. that said, the apartment was lovely and the grounds well kept. Would return but b&b!

Good all inclusive deal.
Looks like recently updated, clean and staff good. Need a car. Good variety of buffet food but often cold. Bar doesn't have a lot of atmosphere. Lots of children's entertainment. We enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely complex - just the right number of guests!
Nice complex and in the middle of December there were just the right number of guests so that there were always sun beds available - not sure if we would have liked to stay there at the height of the season. Miles away from the beach - we waited for the free bus to take us to the beach but it never came so we ended up paying €5 for a taxi instead! Very clean room which was massive and only several feet away from one of the several pools. Food was fine and a large selection. Buffet style. Not 5 star but then it’s not a 5 star hotel. Good value for the money.

Cheap week away all inclusive
Managed to book a great value all inclusive week away through Expedia and wasn't expecting great things regarding the hotel or the food. How pleasantly surprised we were. The Koala is undergoing renovation work but we were housed in the section that had already been refurbished and thought the room was clean spacious and well appointed. This was extended to the pool area which was beautiful and clean. Although the restaurant was in one of the older sections the food was also surprisingly good and varied. All in all we couldn't have asked for more given the cost of the holiday. When all of the sections are finished it will be a really nice place to stay just away from the main areas.
