Great 4 night stay. Reception staff v friendly, expecially the Irish guy who was working there in a morning. Very clean and tidy. Only downside it could be abit closer to town.

A Fine, No Frills, Cheap place to sleep

Posted 30-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
I lived in Galway for 26 years so I knew the location. It's not perfect location wise, it's about a 15 minute walk into the city center but you can't beat it for the price. The room was clean, the gentleman at the desk was friendly. There was the option to pay 5 euro for WiFi in the room, 9 euros for breakfast. There's a petrol\gas station right across the road which has a convenience store (in my opinion, the most overpriced shop in Galway). If you have a car, it looked like parking was a bit tight. I noticed cars right by the street. If you can be assured of parking, it's a perfect location for a stay. If you won't have a car and don't fancy walking too much, then I'd say this might not be for you...beware that Galway gets a lot of rain so do you want to walk that much? Personally, I love to walk, I will stay here again. It's a fine place to lay my head during a short trip.

The hotel staff were amazing, our room was clean and comfortable. It's also a fairly short walk to downtown. Highly recommend this place for staying in Galway and the price was right.

Bit of a walk to town

Posted 04-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Service was a bit slow at check in but the host was very informative to give recommendations for dinner. Wifi supposedly free in the public areas but wasn't working. Room clean but felt like a college dorm. It was what we were expecting so not surprised. We walked to main square for dinner and to Spanish Arch - the street the hotel is on has a lot of abandoned houses for sale which made me feel less safe than i felt in other cities. A bit of a walk to the down town core -maybe 15-20 min. Breakfast is not included so can't comment on food.

Fantastic service

The two guys who were working when we checked in could not have been more helpful. They got us in around midday, which was a massive help (and something they didn't need to do). They also gave us tips of where to go/what to see in the centre and surrounding area. Service was first class and really made the difference. Would stay here again and recommend to others!

Travelodge Galway-excellent value

Posted 29-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
We were using Galway as a launching point for sightseeing nearby. This location was close to the city centre, but far enough away to make getting in and out of town easy. The rooms are clean, quiet and the staff is helpful. Convenient ( limited) food options in the hotel; a few others nearby. Free parking. Excellent value

Close to Center of City

We had the best hospitality. Our devices needed charged, and your staff took very good care of our needs. They were so friendly. I am from Canada and when asked what I liked most about Ireland I say "the people" love the spirit and the accent.... thanks

Good for overnight stay

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Pros: Parking and price
Cons: Building could do with an update.
Location: On a main road yet quiet enough to sleep well. Pleasant walk into town which has character and enough history and shopping to keep us amused for a day
Only stayed one night and facilities, while basic, were adequate. Staff were very helpful. Room was comfortable and adequate. Twenty minute walk into town, which suited us, and parking for our car.
