“Saturday night live”
Although the hotel itself was fine (clean rooms and friendly staff) and it was a fairly long walk to the shopping in Galway, what we really enjoyed most during our one night stay at Flannery's was spending our evening sharing a pint at the bar with the spirited Saturday night crowd.
“Comfortable lodging”
Our room was comfortable and well maintained. Staff was helpful. The hotel bar's menu provided interesting selections for a convenient quick supper at a reasonable price. There was plenty of free parking. The hotel is a great location from which to explore Connemara, the Burren, Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. Our only negative is the hotel's access to Galway city. The hotel is a longish, but reasonable walk to town down an interesting path. However, after a long day on the road, the walk seemed long. Parking in Galway is challenging. The staff recommended riding the local bus which stopped very near to the hotel. While we used public transportation in other communities, the Galway system seemed challenging to use. Bus route maps were not available and fares require exact change rather than multiple ride tickets.
“Good Value”
This hotel is about 0.3 KM from the Galway Institute of Technology for Men which has a bus stop intercity buses, so you don't have to go all the way into the city when you arrive. Our room was ready at 2:00 when we arrived. People were friendly and responsive. On a nice day, walking into the city is about 20 minutes and a very pleasant walk along the bay with safe sidewalks and crossings.
“Flannery's”
Good quality hotel but took 50 minutes to walk into Galway
“very high recommendation”
Very clean well maintained hotel, quiet neighbourhood, large room friendly helpful staff, out of town but bus stop outside the front of hotel. 2 km from city centre
“Flannery's a good choice in Galway”
Great service. Great location to explore Galway or the rest of the West.
“Exceeded expectations”
pros: Recently refurbished hoted. Great rooms. nice bar. V. good breakfast. Friendly staff. Amazing value. cons: 30 mins walk to city centre but busses every 30 mins As a well seasoned business traveller I am very glad that I chose this hotel for our holiday
“It's ok”
Good value booked in advance, not so good when we came back unexpectedly and paid full rate. Self service breakfast was ok, but not great. Good bar, the TV was showing football both nights which is fine by me, but maybe not for everybody?
“Wd go back in a minute!”

“Great Hotel in Galway”
We arrived at the hotel at 8am, way before normal check-in time. The staff was extremely friendly and allowed made the room up right away so we could check in early and eat breakfast that day. The room is amall, but the bed and bedding are very comfortable, and the room and bathroom were spotless. It's a little outside the city center, but we walked and make it in 25 minutes. Parking is free, and there are some convenience stores nearby . The hotel bar and restaurant were great too. It's a great value and it's perfect if you want a nice, friendly, quiet location.
