“Home Away From Home--at a Bargain Price”
Staying at the Hotel Axial was one of the best features of our wonderful holiday in Florence. Although the hotel is just steps from the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria, you find a quiet, relaxed, homey atmosphere as soon as you enter. This is enhanced by the friendly, cooperative, and expert staff, especially Nicholas, who lives up to his sterling reputation in multiple Internet reviews. The small size of the hotel and its layout--with a well-stocked, inviting library and an outdoor patio--led to pleasant conversation with other guests (who were often equally impressed with the Axial). The guest rooms are sizeable, immaculate, and well furnished. The breakfast is generous and delicious. Many of these features are distinctly less appealing in other, far more expensive hotels. The Axial offers a superb and remarkably inexpensive experience at a premier location for those lucky enough to make their way to this hotel.
“Great Location, Great Service”
We were so pleased with our stay in Florence. The hotel is walking distance to all the attractions and the staff couldn't have been more helpful in answering questions we had about day trips and calling the airlines to track our lost luggage. The room was really large, especially for an old city hotel. I would request a room with a courtyard view if you don't want to hear the noise on the street, but even so it was fairly quiet at night. I'll definitely stay there again.
“So perfect”
The location was unbelievable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
“Geat location. Beautiful city.”
After a few hiccups traveling to Florence, this hotel and city was a welcome relief. A lift - which might seem odd to mention but in our experience, isn't a given. Room was as described. Staff very helpful. Good internet. And superb location.
“Conveniently located, good amenities, but too noisy”
The hotel offers perfectly reasonable amenities, the double edged sword is its location: it is halfway between the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria (and by extension the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio) which is great, since you can walk to any of these places in 5 minutes, unfortunately our room sat directly on top of the very busy Via del Calzaiuoli, which had people coming and going at all times, and the municipality doing works very early in the morning. If you are willing to put up with the noise, the hotel will be perfectly adequate for your stay in Florence.
“Completely satified with our hotel choice”
My family and I were perfectly happy with the Hotel Axial facilities/services during our four night stay in April 2011. The rooms/bathrooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast facilities were more than adequate. The location of the hotel is in one of Florence's busiest streets (pedestrian-wise) and we expected some noise at night. However, the triple glazing did help the situation and overall, noise was not an issue. Again, the hotel location made it ideal for visiting the local attractions and landmarks. I would certainly recommend the Axial Hotel to my TA 'friends'!
“basic clean comfortable, great staff and location”
simple basic hotel- clean and comfortable bed and bath. good breakfast and generous self serve coffee machine. wonderfully polite and helpful staff. very central location. room on street a bit loud but with earplugs and windows shut it was ok. s overall I would recommend especially for short trips to florence when being central and close to everything is important- location was very very convenient. best part was the people- very nice
“Pleasant stay”
I stayed in Axial in February 2012. Overall good experience taking into account winter rates. Not sure if I pay summer (pick season rates) to stay in Axial. Exceptional customer service from the reception stuff - pleasant, friendly and attentive! Perfect location. Reasonably clean rooms. Very (I mean - very) basic breakfast
“Great location - little noisy”
This was a good stay, but warning if you are a light sleeper (fortunately, I am not.) The first room I had at the front of the hotel was overlooking the street, and may as well have been in the middle of it. This particular street is a main drag in Florence, and is NOISY. Even through the closed window and shutters, Florence night life found its way in. And as much of a heavy sleeper I am, I was awakened twice. The last night I had attahced an extra night to my stay, so I was moved to a room further back. This was much quieter, although the difference between a "single" room and a "double" now eludes me - they were the same size. The room was clean, and after a little bit of a questionable entry, I was pleased to see the hotel itself it updated. GREAT location. This is just a hundred yards or so from the Dumomo, and everything else in Florence!
