“Pretty riad, but room was not great value”
A lovely looking riad, clean and attractive with a very spacious roof terrace. Staff were all very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our stay. However the room was poor value for money. We paid a lot extra for a sea view which turned out to be a small window looking towards the harbour and I wouldn’t bother pay more for that again. The view from the terrace above was much better. Also there's a skylight directly over the bed and someone removes its cover every morning, not taking into consideration that you might be wanting a lie-in. We did ask them to leave it covered but it kept getting taken off. Another reason I wouldn’t recommend this room (n. 30) is lack of privacy and quiet – it’s a suite of rooms round the top floor of one of the courtyards, the main door opening on to the balconies with bathroom across the from the bedroom, which looked lovely at first but come night time the noise from the floor below carried up into ours, it being an open terrace with the two floors below the same layout, i.e. each room had a whole floor. Closing the door to the bedroom helped but it is just a glass door so not soundproof. Normally in a riad everyone is considerate of other people behind closed doors round the patio but the people on the first floor didn’t notice that their sitting room was in effect right outside our window.
Finally an extra 25 Dirham (£2) to have an omelette with breakfast is pretty steep - considering the cost of the room already.
