close to stores and off street boutiques

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Pros: the location and accessability
Cons: i don't have any comments to make in this section
Location: Christmas time at the Dome (opposite hotel) is a must to visit, lovely boutique shops within walking distance and National Gallery
a warm greeting and a welcoming smile immediately on entering the hotel, reception professional and again very friendly informing us of hotel facilities, our luggage taken to a pristine clean room, I think the logistics of preparing and serving all hotel guests in the breakfast lounge could be a nightmare but i found it to be run like a tight ship the staff very much aware of our needs ,finally i found it necessary to have access to my luggage which was being stored until ready to leave and found again the porters very accommodating, nothing was a trouble to them.

City centre location

Posted 21-Nov-2014
Location: It's in a good location for exploring the city including the castle, art galleries, Holyrood Palace and the whisky experience.
It is a comfortable hotel and the breakfast is good. We were kept awake by the noise from the street behind the hotel.

Ideally located for anything/everything...

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Cons: Possibly car valet service?
Ideally located for anything/everything in Edinburgh, the George is the best hotel of the four we've now stayed in when visiting the capital. And although the on-site parking is restrictive, there's a way to ensure you avoid the much dreaded parking fines...simply read the meter instructions carefully, and time your activities accordingly!

Central hotel

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Food selection for evening meals, we eat out every evening because no restaurant service only bar style food available.
Location: Perfect for exploring Edinburgh center, walking distance from all the tourist attractions, close to the shopping area and tour buss departure point.
A lovely hotel with everything we needed for our mini break provided. Our room was very quiet despite being in central Edinburgh, breakfast choice was excellent, staff efficient and helpful.

Nice Hotel, friendly staff.

Posted 03-Nov-2014
Pros: Its position in Edinburg and the building.
Cons: Heat up the bedrooms a bit better.
Location: Everything to see and do in central Edinburg is 10 minutes away. Fantastic!
Yes, very nice hotel. Lovely building and fab rooms but as they are historical central heating is not very efficient. I dare say our room will be cold in winter. Having said that, I would recommend it to anybody. Good service too.
