Great location

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Location. View. Breakfast.
Cons: Staff could be more personable. Temperature in room not very manageable.
Location: Close to Waverley train station, city tour buses, shopping. Within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle.
Very central location. Great view of Princes St Gardens and Edinburgh Castle and surprisingly not noisy. Great breakfast. Staff not terribly friendly.

Perfekt avstand til det meste!

Enkel men grei standard, frokosten kan godt bli bedre, dårlig på å fylle på når det var tomt.

Stuck in the past

Posted 16-Jun-2015
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: The shower curtain over the bath this caused flooding on the floor and tissues in the room
Location: Very close to train station, approx 1 min walk. Close to tram again within 2 min walk and right opposite the Big Bus tours.
Excellent location and friendly staff. Hotel is stuck in the dark ages and still takes a room deposit and you are required to hand in your room key when leaving the hotel each day.

Pros: Everything
Cons: The enterence is difficult to see
Location: The castle.Arthur's seat many stores.transportation to everything although most every within walking distance.Right at train station
We had a wonderful time at the hotel. Lovely to sit looking at the Scott monument having tea in the afternoon.Staff went above and beyond with everything including printing our boarding passes. Clean and we had the perfect room for four' We love Edinburgh and intend to go there again next year as it is impossible to see everything in one week.We will definitely stay at the Waverly next time.

Cerca de la Meca del Golf que es el Old Course

Posted 15-Jun-2015
Pros: Si es agradable para quien piensa ir a este lugar a jugar golf y disfrutar de una ciudad pequeña pero con mucha historia.
Cons: no
Location: Aparte de los campor de Golf, las ruidas de un bello castillo y una catedral de la misma epoca que fue impresionante,
Hotel antiguo bien conservado y con muchas decoraciones de grandes golfistas de la historia.

excelente hotel

Posted 13-Jun-2015
Pros: ubicación y el desayuno.
Cons: no
Totalmente recomendable.

Limited access for disabled.

Posted 12-Jun-2015
Pros: Central location.
Cons: Installing a stair lift (chair type) to allow less abled people access to reception area.
Location: The hop on hop off bus was a stones throw away from the hotel on Waverley Bridge. Tourist information office is also close by.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, although there is a lift from reception to all floors, the reception was on the first floor with no lift or even a service lift to get to it. As one of our party is disabled it was quite a struggle for her to get up the steps to the reception area but the staff were happy to carry her walking aid for her. This did not spoil our stay, but it would have been more enjoyable if there was another way of her getting to the first floor without the embarrassment of her struggling up the steps.

The hotel is conveniently located across from the train station but within waking distance from the castle & high street pubs! It was clean, quiet, staff was friendly and would stay there again!

Heads Up on Staying Here

Posted 08-Jun-2015
Pros: The location
Cons: Guests could be given some instruction on how to turn the heat on because there is no obvious way that I recognized. Ask.
Location: Just across the street from the train station, great shopping, near a grocery store and the hop on, hop off buss which I highly recommend taking.
Overall this was a good choice. However, if you are handicapped or on crutches you need to choose somewhere else. Just to get to reception you have to go up a flight of stairs. There is an elevator after you get to what Americans would call the second floor.
