The Earl is located excellently - close enough to the city centre; but far enough from the very busy areas.
However, there are numerous nightclubs on the street - so it can get loud at night if (1) you are in a street-facing room, (2) on the first floor, and/or (3) a light sleeper (I'm not).
Those who wish to dine at their hotel cannot do so - and there is no breakfast of any kind available at the hotel. This is not an issue for me, personally - but obviously would be for someone who likes to dine at the same place they're staying!
The rooms were modern, clean - but placement of the bed and other furniture created a somewhat cramped atmosphere. If you're staying in the room with another person, this can lead to moments similar to when you try to use a 'galley kitchen' as the same time as another person's attempts to cook.
The best feature of this hotel was its staff - who were consistently friendly and helpful. Louisa (from Brazil) and Sinead (Irish) were two great examples. Thanks to both - and the other staff, too - for making the visit so nice, in interpersonal terms :)
