“Wonderful room with the largest and most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Definitely go again!”
Eccentric mix of architectural styles. Wonderful room and great service. 20 minute bus/taxi ride to the city centre or alternatively Howth and Sutton for a day by the sea. Would definitely reccommend! Excellent value and peaceful location.
“Great Place to stay”
I was very chuffed with this place, although it's a bit of a trek from the airport i think the location is ideal if you want to be near the town without being in it! The bar is a bit on the pricey side and heaven forbid you use the mini bar!! other than that it's a marvellous place and an attraction in itself
“An Irish gem of a hotel”
Just back from a weekend in Dublin and sooooo pleased we chose this hotel. Our room was faultless, the mattress was divine, we slept like logs (hence can't give breakfast review), the staff were really helpful and friendly too. The food was 1st class, we ate fish and steak both were cooked to perfection (and we are quite fussy). We have no hesitation in returning to or highly recommending this hotel.
“TOTALLY AMAZING!!”
This has to be one of the BEST & FINEST hotel we have stayed in. The hotel was THE best sightseeing itself. Totally out of a dream world. The only thing i did not like was the sound of the bar next door which would go on about until half 12, apart from that, it was a total amazing lost for words experience staying at this hotel. I dont understand how this can be a 4* star hotel when clearly it is aa 5 star!!
“Great Hotel for romantic weekend”
Hotel was very smart and staff were very helpful. The room we stayed in was excellent although w did have a problem with the aircon as it was cold that weekend.Meals expensive dependant on what you chose but good.Clontarf is well located away from the noise of the city, but city is accessable by bus.we had a good time and will be going back.Make it a must if going to Dublin.
“Clontarf Castle Hotel in December”
We arrived very early - before 11 am - not expecting to be able to get access to the room until the afternoon, but we were given the room immediately. The room was very comfortable and the whole fabric and decoration of the building was great. The 10 million euro make-over in recent years was very evident in the quality of the furnishings. It was a lovely place to spend time and beautifully trimmed for Christmas. There was free internet access in the lobby. The only thing which was disappointing was the cooked breakfast. Although individually ordered and waiter served, it was clearly not freshly cooked.
“Fantastic building, superb staff and the most comfortable bed I've ever found in a hotel.”
We ate in the hotel bar one night and were impressed by the very personal service we received - the bar staff could not have been more helpful and the food was excellent. Breakfast in the dining room was plentiful and full of choice, and once again the most memorable feature was the waiting staff. Although largely a buffet arrangement the staff seemed not to care and offerred to collect thigns for the guests which they should really have been getting for themselves. It was as though the staff couldn't bear the guests having to fend for themselves! Overall a magical historic building with all the modern comforts you could wish for and an extraordinary service culture. Highly recommended.
“Excellent hotel within a short bus ride of Dublin city centre.”
Stayed in this hotel for one night prior to an early morning ferry trip back to Holyhead. Convenient for the ferry port and a short bus ride to Dublin city centre. Rooms and decor excellent and had one of the best nights sleep ever in a hotel. We had a bar snack on arrival p.m., went by bus into the city for our evening meal and didn't have time for breakfast the next day due to ferry timing. Overall this was a first class hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
“Lovely place to stay”
This was a lovely hotel in a quiet part of Dublin. Can be expensive to commute if you have to use taxis but bus service in to town is good and is onyl a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall you can't go wrong staying here.
“Clontarf castle review”
The hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly. The only problem we came across was that after booking a 4 poster room for a birthday surprise they was no bath to complete the fully relaxing experience. We asked to swap but were told there were no rooms at all with baths. The food was good and the service friendly.
