Right in the city centre, but quiet and good car parking. Staff were all really polite and helpful at reception and in the bar. Hotel seems a mixture of nicely maintained old parts with new bits and modern facilities. My room overlooked the cathedral and had high ceilings and original features, was spotless, warm and comfortable.
We stayed just two nights here and found it to be just what we needed. A short walk from the station, it's some way from the centre of town but close to pleasant riverside walks. Our room was tiny but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean with a very pleasantly appointed bathroom. The breakfast room was spacious and bright and the breakfast itself was well cooked and plentiful. All-in-all we felt well looked after and would unreservedly recommend this for a short stay.

So pleased we found this lovely guesthouse, we were made to feel very welcome especially as we needed to book in earlier due to attending a music festival nearby. Room spacious and very clean, lovely breakfast area and the breakfast itself was excellent. Quiet even though on the main road and great location, will certainly use again.

Very nice hotel, thought we had booked the apartment but upon arrival was put in a 4 bedded room. Went to reception and was very helpful and changed our room immediately, The food was excellent. Our whole experience for my daughters 25th birthday at this hotel was superb. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Chose hotel from the Internet, Holiday Inn has a good reputation, the cost was reasonable and it was in the area close to where our friend lived.. The young lady on reception was very welcoming and later, when I didn't have a phone number for my friend, she did everything in her power find the address, print off maps and send emails for me. I was MOST impressed with the service.
Our trip to Norfolk was to visit the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham on the August Bank Holiday weekend, Aug 23-25th. All hotels closer to the village were fully booked, so we chose the Mercure hotel. The location was simply perfect for us with Asda supermarket just across the road. Breakfast was excellent. The only draw back was that since it was a hot weekend the air conditioning was blowing warm air.so we had to leave our window open in the night. There is ample amount of parking space too. Good gym and swimming pool. I recommend this hotel for a short or longer stay.
