“Wonderful stay at the Somerville”
This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are plush and everything is done to make you feel totally relaxed. Best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel in the UK
“Would return again and again”
I don't normally comment on stays but this place deserved it. I travel most weeks for work and use hotels but this was a much more pleasureable stay than any I have stayed in recently. Great food, extremely clean, comfortable, friendly and any place that leaves jelly tots next to the bed is a winner in my books!
“Great place to stay in Torquay”
This hotel was a cut above, every small detail has been looked at from the little dish of sweets on your bedside to the ample varied breakfast. It was great and we really enjoyed our stay. We will be going back.
“Lovely hotel with fantastic customer service”
This is a lovely guest house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When we arrived, we were shown around the public areas, presented with a map of Torquay and advised on how to get around. There were also some brochures and discount vouchers to local attractions! A particularly nice touch was the fresh milk available downstairs for tea & coffee and some very nice home-baked cookies. Breakfast was cooked to order and absolutely delicious. The hotel is located a 5-minute walk away from the harbour so it was good to be able to leave our car in the car park and not worry about getting around. All in all, we had a great time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone visitng Torquay.
“Friendly, helpful staff”
I can't say enough about the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Cheerful, lively, and helpful in all cases, a pleasure to visit them. Our room was admittedly "cozy", very small but comfortable and well-appointed. The common areas were tastefully decorated and pleasant to be in. The hotel overall is small, or intimate.
“Great Family run Hotel”
First impressions weren't great as the hotel had scaffolding erected around it and there was some very noisy work being undertaken. However, upon first entering, the welcome was informal yet polite and very welcoming. Booking in was quick and easy, they even carried our bag to the room, (mainly due to the fact I walk with a stick), but a nice gesture. The room wasn't spacious, but sufficient for 2 of us, with a nice big bed. The bathroom was new, with a nice large shower and plenty of space for 2 of us to get ready in. Our room had patio doors out onto the garden, which when used as an exit to the car park, saved the walk through the hotel. There is plenty of choice at breakfast, enough to suit any taste and the service first class. They do not run a late bar, it shuts at 1030pm, but the town is a 5 minute walk away with plenty of late drinking holes. Altogether an excellent stay, which we will certainly repeat.
“great location”
