"Lovely old cottage, furnished well with a nice kitchen having everything you need for eating in (except for a sieve or collander). Clay tiles on ground floor make the floor cold so bring slippers in low season. Some very low beams so tall people beware. Couldn't light the gas fire though. Surprised to find slow-moving bees on window sills or on floor each day when returning from day out."

"The Tallow Factory is a wonderful character-filled place for a family or group gathering, in the heart of Dedham Village and the surrounding Dedham Vale. The ground floor has three comfortable entertaining areas, if you include the walled garden along with the wood beamed lounge and large country kitchen. Upstairs easily sleeps 8-10 people. The neighboring Sun Inn serves excellent food. Thoroughly recommend!!"

It is clearly a period property with low ceilings in most rooms, narrow stairs and a beam in the floor of the main bedroom. "Simply needed a hotel that had 24/7 check in and this was the only one. But luckily the hotel was fully booked on arrival at 0100 so got upgraded for free to a suite which was a lovely bonus! Didn’t get to stay long enough to say much more as had onward transport the next day. "
