Beautiful property, wonderful city

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Pros: Excellent service at front desk and concierge. Beautiful grounds.
Cons: Currently undergoing renovations, which started a bit early in the morning for our taste. Just unfortunate timing for the visit on our part.
Location: Visit the city of Bath, a World Heritage Cultural Site. Loved the free walking tour put on by the Mayor's Guild.
Room is typical of what you would expect at a nice hotel/spa. Bathroom was outfitted beautifully. Broken light in the closet was disappointing. Door to patio (approx. 18"x36") was wonderful because we could open for fresh air, standing outside, viewing the exquisite grounds of the property. Loved walking around, as well as the nearby neighborhoods and Sydney Garden park. Just wish it was a little closer to downtown.

Great facilities and surroundings; rooms decent

Posted 06-Jul-2015
The hotel is jaw-dropping beautiful. However the rooms themselves are not up to that amazing standard. Don't get me wrong. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. However, the bathrooms are beginning to show signs of wear and tear. My room had an odd musty smell as did that of my sister who was in a separate room. The other 2 rooms of our party were fine. The room service was so-so. Limited selection, over-priced and average taste. However, I'm being v picky here due to its 5-star status. It is, all said and done, a comfortable and luxurious stay for the discerning traveller.

Nice, but has problems

Posted 21-Jun-2015
It has a good location and the hotel itself is very nice, but has problems. The biggest one is toilets are not working. They tried to fix it but failed. They gave me much better room but that one has the same problem. And air con did not work. They explained when outside temperature is low, it does not work. Unbelievable! And they delivered food to my room while I was waiting at the restaurant. They said sorry and gave me discount. And so on and on.

Noisy

Posted 01-Jun-2015
Pros: Historical surroundings.
Location: Quiet location but near enough to the centre.
We were not informed that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment on the floor above us. So we were subjected to banging and drilling from 8am. We rang reception on two separate occasions about this. They did stop until 9am.

Beautifully situated close to the centre of Bath

Posted 28-May-2015
A beautiful hotel that is most definitely indulgent and luxurious wich is conveniently located within a miles walk to the city centre. The service provided by the staff was excellent, the hotel itself and spa were also superb. A must visit if you are ever looking for a weekend away in Bath.

Beeaaautiful!

Posted 24-May-2015
Pros: The staff is well-trained and the grounds are lovely.
Cons: Front-Desk staff could be a little more helpful. Their Manager is fantastic as is the Concierge and bell staff.
Location: The Hotel is located on the hills above downtown Bath, providing a breathtaking view of the countryside with incredible gardens.
This hotel is a beautiful spa. Although it sits high on the hill above Bath, it is conveniently located on the 'Hop on' bus line that takes you into downtown. Axel, the General Manager, is excellent and the staff are well trained. We had a few snags but they all worked quickly to make corrections. I would not hesitate to stay in this beautiful property again.

Good relaxing base for a trip to Bath

Posted 04-May-2015
Pros: Spacious and airy with fitness centre
The availability of the gym and swimming pool made it a good base to relax in after a day sight-seeing. The 1812 overture, with cannons and mortars firing off, and also the final to Beetoven's Choral symphony, is probably not the best choice for background music at breakfast!

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city

Lovely stay, lovely breakfast, lovely spa. room was too hot at night. Had to request s fan at 3am. Pillows were too puffy that they were almost flat to sleep on, had to keep rearranging.
