“Lovely Hotel”
The staff are very friendly and extrem, ely efficient. We had a problem with our swipe key and this was sorted out quite quickly and in the meantime we had compliment drinks in the bar. Plus we were offered another room if we wanted. The hotel itself was clean and the rooms large and comfortable. we shall definite use this hotel again.
“Excellent”
Lovely hotel set in wonderful grounds on the edge of Bath. Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is excellent and we dined in the restaraunt one evening and this was also very good. Staff very helpful. I would say that the walk from the main road up to the hotel may be a bit steep for the elderly or disabled
“Must go again and stay a little longer”
I was in this hotel for just one night, but I wish I was there longer. If you're driving to Bath, but don't want to shell out for expensive rooms in the centre of town (and have to pay for parking separately) and don't want to end up in a small bed and breakfast place with less facilities either, you could not go wrong with Bailbrook House. The hotel is just off the A46, just before entering Bath from the north (around 1.5 miles from the centre of town). It's on top of a hill, with amazing views, and comes with gym and sauna facilities. Unfortunately, as I was there for just one night, I didn't get a chance to use these (maybe next time). The room I got was spacious, clean, and tidy and WiFi internet access and breakfast were included in the price. You could find cheaper rooms elsewhere, but they are unlikely to be of such quality. What's more, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is ample parking space. But if you're feeling fit and don't want to get stuck in traffic on your way into Bath (there are some really terrible traffic signals on the way into and out of the city) walking into town should only take around 30 minutes. Note that you'll be walking uphill on your way back, but you could always catch a bus or a taxi. To sum it all up, Bailbrook House is a very well-located and high quality hotel. I can't wait to go there again.
“Great Hotel”
After a poor stay in London, we were delighted with this hotel. The rooms were huge by almost hotel standards (USA or EU), with real king-size beds - rare to find in the UK! Will stay here again without hesitation.
“Recommended as comfortable & economic hotel for weekend in Bath”
We were concerned because of adverse comments about the dormitory-like nature of the rooms but we found clean, large, Comfortable and modern; Bailbrook, as our taxi driver told us, clearly has oriented itself as a conference hotel but if you can see past that it is a very pleasant and economical place for a weekend stay. The staff were young and friendly and always willing to help, even proactively. Breakfasts were great but we found the in-hotel restaurant disappointing. Bus to Bath centre was easy but about breakeven over taxi for a party of 6 as we were. They could do more with garden but perhaps they do in the summer.
“Lovely hotel to stay in BATH”
We really enjoyed our stay at Bailbrook House in Bath. It was in a fabulous position in its own grounds. The staff and the room were very welcoming and we wished we had stayed for two nights. Breakfast was really good. It was very quiet and a relaxing place to stay. Its just a taxi drive from the town but well worth it !!!! One thing to mention was that they(hotel) took £50 deposit on credit card and paid it back if no expenses were incurred, back onto credit card. No problem doing this at all.
“Bailbrook House - great for a weekend break in Bath”
We booked this hotel late - because there was no availability in hotels nearer to the centre of Bath. Only then did I read comments in TripAdvisor.com. I was a bit trepidacious as a result; many of the comments were quite negative. Nevertheless we got there late on the Friday (after mistakenly going to the wrong hotel next door (Heavens! Were they snooty? Avoid like the plague.) Bailbrook House surpassed our expectations. We had a clean, comfy and large rooms. Breakfast was excellent. My girlfriend and I don't eat fry-ups, so the cereal and fruit selection was much appreciated. Finally it is only half an hour's walk (or a bus ride) into Bath. So no need to drive if just visiting the town.
“Comfortable but impersonal”
This is basically a conference centre; as such it was fine for me staying in Bath on business for a couple of days. Food was good and the room was comfortable (though the desk light didn't work). I wouldn't recommend it as a holiday hotel.
“Pleasantly surprised, would use again.”
Hotel is in a pleasant location away from the city centre, about 30 - 45 minute walk to Bath shopping area. The hotel itself is on top of a small hill and overlooks the Eastern end of Bath and the surrounding countryside. The rooms are not part of the old building you will see in the photographs. The rooms are actually next to the old building in a more modern accommodation block. The old building (Bailbrook House itself) has the reception, conference rooms and coffee lounge. Breakfast is served in another more modern block next to the accommodation block. We were pleasantly surprised with the breakfast service. The cooked breakfast was really good with decent sausages and plenty of everything. There was a good 'continental' selection as well. Even the service was really good, with the restaurant supervisor warmly greeting and getting you quickly seated. The rooms themselves were a bit dated and in need of some TLC, but were comfortable, well equipped and warm (we stayed at start of the Nov 2010 cold snap). Didn't make use of any of the hotel facilities, so no view on them. Reception was efficient and polite. In summary, a lovely location, reasonably convenient for Bath centre, superb breakfast, in need of some modernisation of accommodation.
“Not bad in Bath”
Hotel was fine. Nothing special, but a good price for Bath, and only a short 20 minute walk to the town centre. Would definitely consider staying here again.
