“Very good location, price, and experience!”
Sonia at the front desk was very, very helpful and was amazing to us once she found out it was our honeymoon she sent us complimentary wine, and made extra sure we had fun in everything we did. The hotel itself was in good condition, the staff were friendly, and always accomodated us when we needed anything at all. The view was amazing!! The food was great at the hotel also. It is in an amazing location as it is close to restaurants, and the public beach! Definitely would recommend this place.
“Perfect sea view”
We stayed in a superior room in the Rostrevor Hotel. The room had all we needed - fridge, flat screen tv, 2 ring cooker, kettle, toaster, coffee percolator, hairdryer and safe - for an enjoyable stay. It had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. It had a restaurant and pool bar/cafe which we ate in twice. The food was lovely. The staff at reception and throughout the hotel were polite, friendly and helpful. We were close to bars and night clubs which was OK for us as we did not have children or a pressing need to go to sleep early but I would not recommend the area for anyone who does not want night time noise. There are plenty of places to eat close by and we found the food to be of a high standard and not too pricy in most places. The hotel was a great base for a two week stay. We hired a car for a week but were content to stay in the hotel grounds for the last few days of our stay.
“Great value, great hotel”
To my surprise, this boutique hotel was great! This hotel ranks high on my list for budget traveling. Hotel points in my book: -was beach front -the pool was clean and a good size -rooms were spacious and clean -friendly staff (especially SONJA at the front desk) -nightly happy hour -free internet in your room -plasma flat screen tv in rooms and bar area -and the best feature of them all....LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION - IT WAS ACROSS THE STREET FROM ALL THE CLUBS IN THE 'GAP' (ST. LAWRENCE GAP).
“Better than we expected”
Hotel in a good (if noisy - St Lawrence Gap party capital of Barbados) location, ameneties arewhat you would expect of medium rated caribbean...new LCD TV was a bonus (we stayed in superior room). Beware of bulding works that are ongoing...due for completion shortly...not very intrusive Staff very friendly and helpful...if a little laid back at times (but that's the bajan way). Rooms were spotlessly clean, and the whole hotel was well maintained. Central location with a host of decent (if not amazing) restaurants within walking distance. Bank directly opposite the hotel was great for cashing in travellers cheques, ATM withdrawals, etc, etc. Would gladly stay here again...great value (with the emphasis on 'value') hotel.
“A noisy place”
This is a very average hotel, but probably not bad for the price. If you want low price then consider this hotel. There are nightclubs all around it that are very loud until 3am. Bring your ear plugs. Convenient to airport.
“First visit to Barbados...I had a BLAST!!!”
This was my first visit to Barbados. I absolutely loved my stay at the Rostrevor Hotel. I had an ocean view room the view was magnificent. The sound of the waves crashing at night was marvelous. The staff was friendly and the grounds were clean. I would DEFINITELY stay at the Rostrevor Hotel. The Gap was quiet during the day and lively at night. I read comments where people said that they couldn't sleep because the Gap is noisy . I slept peacefully at night. I couldn't hear any music from my room. If you are looking for a place with ocean view rooms for a decent price. Rostrevor Hotel is the place to stay. I had a BLAST...
“Good value in a beautiful location”
The Rostrevor Hotel's main virtue is its location. It is in the heart of The St Lawrence Gap, home of many and varied restaurants, bars etc., and faces directly on to the ocean with a lovely pool patio and its own very small beach. It is also less than 5 minutes walk from a long and lovely public beach. Every room has a large balcony overlooking the ocean. The rooms are spacious, simply furnished but with a comfortable bed and a clean functional bathroom. They also have a well equipped kitchen. They are quiet as long as you close the bathroom door as the bathroom has an unglazed louvered opening on the street side and there is a pub right opposite. There is only very limited food and beverage service in the hotel but there are plenty of alternatives within a few minutes walk. The free wifi is a nice bonus in a (by Barbados standards) fairly low priced hotel.
“Beautiful Barbados”
I enjoyed my stay in Barbados. The hotel was nice and the staff was very accomodating. The location was great, we were walking distance of restuarants and clubs. As single women, we felt safe walking around late at night. The people were friendly and the food was good. We did the Cool Running boat cruise, which was an adventure! We had fun snorkeling and the staff was great with first time snorkelers such as myself. I recommend this cruise. Barbados is a little expensive and we had some trouble with our flights getting there, but overall the experience was memorable and I will definitely visit there again.
“Excellent view of sea from room”
Our hotel stay was quite pleasant. The room had a kitchenette that was reasonably equipped. The view of the sea from the room was georgeous. There was also a very large inground pool on the premises. The staff was very friendly, couteous and always willing to give a helping hand. My only negative is the fact that you had to leave your room keys at the desk when you went out and I was not sure about the level of security. I will definitely stay there again.
“Pretty Cool Hotel”
This hotel was really neat. The backside had a really nice deck area. This area included a small restaurant/bar, a pool, tons of beach chairs, and a nice small secluded beach. The hotel sits right in St. Lawrence Gap. There were tons of restaurants right out side of the hotel. We could hear music most of the night but it was not annoying or very loud. Everyone was friendly and we had no problems. The only annoyance was the onsite restaurant only took cash, but they took both US and BBD
