easy hotel.right on the beach

Posted 22-Oct-2014
Pros: I loved the fact that it was casual
Cons: as we talk they are trying to expand their menu
Location: there is a varied nightlife all close by or a short bus ride away. Shopping is also nearby.
great beach for the person looking for quiet fun and relaxation, this is the kind of hotel you want to take your best buddies to. There was always someone to help you when you needed help,Rooms were clean and large enough to feel at home in. This hotel had useful cooking facilities and was close to stores and bus lines, and of course night life. With an air of casualness, the people at this hotel made my stay very enjoyable and I will return.

Great location and very friendly staff

Posted 06-May-2014
This was our first time in Barbados and if you don't want to stay on the more upmarket west coast then this is the perfect location, the hotel has access to lovely beaches as well as plenty of others close by. The hotel is literally on the waters edge and has a lovely light and open feel, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the rep helped us book trips and recommended good local restaurants. A visit to Oistins on a Friday or Saturday is a must, we recommend Uncle George's.

Ask for what you want!

Posted 24-Apr-2014
Pros: The ambiance in general whether inside on the beach/sun bed area.
Cons: Re clarifying (change) the room view category for the Ocean View Ground Floor rooms.
Location: Oistens Friday fish fry is great but a rental car or Taxi is required to get to the St Lawrence Gap bars etc.
Despite believing we would have an Ocean View room on arrival we given a ground floor one in the Ocean View block with only a minuscule sight of the sea and with sun loungers places outside the balcony an just 10 feet from the dining table. The room was dark and it a bad start to the holiday especially as I had stayed before in another part of the hotel.. The plus point was the intervention of the reception staff who understood my disappointment and arranged for me to move to a 3rd floor room two days later. The moral is make sure you ask for the type of room you want, don't leave the allocation to chance. There isn't a beach at the front of the hotel but tide permitting the beach to the side is very good as is the swimming with a sandy access to the water. The staff are generally very good. The reception and room cleaning are excellent but the restaurant service can be very slow, though this is occasional because the manager and certain waitresses are very good. The food is good and reasonably priced but you need to patient when ordering. The wifi connection is limited to the reception and restaurant but the wired facility in the room was very good. A small shop there is a well supplied facility run by a very happy lady who has a great customer service attitude.

Attractive moderate priced hotel handy to airport

Posted 17-Mar-2014
Room had 2 twin beds as requested. Bathroom ok, but shower defective, and no grab bars. Decent TV, unexpected kitchenette. Balcony with no sea view. Adequate cafe on the water, with excellent flying fish lunch. Lots of chaise lounges with big pool and small beach. Easy sea access. Liked being out of Bridgetown and nearer to airport (not a noise problem) for access to our flight out. All in all, a reasonable facility.

Excellent value hotel

Posted 21-Feb-2014
Pros: Good room, terrific buffet breakfast 5 yards from the sea
Cons: nothing
Location: Not much opportunity to try but there is are good reasonable eating places nearby.
Changes to flights forced on us by Virgin meant we had to stopover in Barbados. This hotel is close to the airport but right on the beach at Oistins and has a good pool.

Nice hotel out of town close to public transport

Posted 09-Jan-2014
Pros: The rooms but not the beds. The convenience of the public transport. Staff were generally very friendly as all Barbadians usually are.
Cons: The internet is ethernet in the rooms which is not very useful for smartphones and tablets. Microwave instead of the electric hob. Replace CRTV
Location: Out of town but close to public transport. Nearest restaurants about 20 minutes walk away.
A nice hotel, well decorated and maintained but with limited communal areas which included the swimming pool. The back of the hotel projects right up to the waters edge so there is no beach behind the hotel just to either side of it. This means there are no beach bars. With the exception of the breakfast, which like most Barbados hotels did not include an fresh fruit, we had problems with the food. Twice we were offered chicken which was undercooked and the staff did not seem to realise the danger in this as they simply offered to replace it with another piece. The hotel is well out of town and at least twenty minutes walk from either St Lawrence Gap or Oistins where the nearest alternative restaurants are but the public buses did stop close to the hotel and you could go anywhere for 67p Our room was large, generally clean, well decorated and light with an en suite which was tiled (not always the case with 3 star in Barbados), had a double sized shower and plenty of hot water. Instead of the more convenient and usual microwave there was a four ring electric hob and a king sized bed turned out to be two single beds pushed together. The hotel is used by package tour operators but they have many people who return year after year so they must be getting it right for some.

Posted 07-Dec-2013
Pros: location is just right for the night life at oistins and easy transport link to speightstown and the north of the island
Cons: move the smoke alarm from over the cooker
