Attractive moderate priced hotel handy to airport

Posted 17-Mar-2014
Room had 2 twin beds as requested. Bathroom ok, but shower defective, and no grab bars. Decent TV, unexpected kitchenette. Balcony with no sea view. Adequate cafe on the water, with excellent flying fish lunch. Lots of chaise lounges with big pool and small beach. Easy sea access. Liked being out of Bridgetown and nearer to airport (not a noise problem) for access to our flight out. All in all, a reasonable facility.

Excellent value hotel

Posted 21-Feb-2014
Pros: Good room, terrific buffet breakfast 5 yards from the sea
Cons: nothing
Location: Not much opportunity to try but there is are good reasonable eating places nearby.
Changes to flights forced on us by Virgin meant we had to stopover in Barbados. This hotel is close to the airport but right on the beach at Oistins and has a good pool.

Nice hotel out of town close to public transport

Posted 09-Jan-2014
Pros: The rooms but not the beds. The convenience of the public transport. Staff were generally very friendly as all Barbadians usually are.
Cons: The internet is ethernet in the rooms which is not very useful for smartphones and tablets. Microwave instead of the electric hob. Replace CRTV
Location: Out of town but close to public transport. Nearest restaurants about 20 minutes walk away.
A nice hotel, well decorated and maintained but with limited communal areas which included the swimming pool. The back of the hotel projects right up to the waters edge so there is no beach behind the hotel just to either side of it. This means there are no beach bars. With the exception of the breakfast, which like most Barbados hotels did not include an fresh fruit, we had problems with the food. Twice we were offered chicken which was undercooked and the staff did not seem to realise the danger in this as they simply offered to replace it with another piece. The hotel is well out of town and at least twenty minutes walk from either St Lawrence Gap or Oistins where the nearest alternative restaurants are but the public buses did stop close to the hotel and you could go anywhere for 67p Our room was large, generally clean, well decorated and light with an en suite which was tiled (not always the case with 3 star in Barbados), had a double sized shower and plenty of hot water. Instead of the more convenient and usual microwave there was a four ring electric hob and a king sized bed turned out to be two single beds pushed together. The hotel is used by package tour operators but they have many people who return year after year so they must be getting it right for some.

Great Place for the price

Posted 07-Dec-2013
Pros: location the beach the staff not stuffy - easygoing
Cons: the rooms are kind of tired and beds and bedding could be replaced
Location: close to Oistins for the Friday fish market, we rented a car so it was a good home base. Love the beach there.
We like this hotel. The grounds are well kept and it's right on a beautiful beach. It's never crowded. The rooms are a little tired and need updating. The staff is wonderful.

Ok but very tired

Posted 25-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed at Butterfly Beach as a base for meeting up with friends staying in other places. Good location, you can get to most places quickly by local vans or taxi. The rooms are very tired and need refurbishment but they are well cleaned. I had a studio so there were basic cooking facilities. The downside was there was no microwave so i couldn't reheat any leftovers etc. The staff were mainly friendly and helpful and as a lone traveller they often made conversation with me which was nice. The pool is tiny and guests tend to put towels out early so finding a suitable space was an issue. The beach is very small so I went out to other beaches in the area such as Miami or Dover which were far nicer. Overall, an ok hotel with nice staff but for the money i wouldn't stay there again. I stayed at Dover Beach previously and for a comparative price there was far more on offer.

Pros: I like the view at breakfast
Cons: Housekeeping attendance re iron
Location: Local food resturants in Oistins
I liked the hotel I felt the breakfast was limited for the cost (buffet) I think they should tell you on checking in that you need to come down for an iron. I called in the morning to get an iron and was told I need to come downstairs for it. That did not sit well with me. Overall rooms, staff was fine
