“GOOD PLACE TO STAY IN AUSTIN”

The Holiday Inn Town Lake is a very convenient place to stay in Austin. Right by Lady Bird Johnson Lake, nice walking paths available and rental bikes also available for riding along the lake's paths. Room was clean, employees were pleasant, but hall rugs are just plain dirty -- they need to be cleaned. This is the 4th time in 5 years that we have staed at this hotel and rugs remain dirty throughout the period. It really gives a bad impression and first impressions are important. Don't let the hall rugs ruin your stay, though, overall the hotel is very pleasant.

The person at the registration desk, Stella, was very accommodating! The staff was pleasant and helpful. I will stay there again and tell others of my experience.

“Beautiful view”

How can you not love the beautiful view of Lady Bird Lake from your window? It's so peaceful and relaxing. I didn't think the comforter would be warm enough for me, but it was deceptively cozy. I slept very comfortably that night.

“Clean the windows!”

Nice hotel, good location, shuttle service available. I would not pay for the upgrade to "lakeview" since the widows are so dirty you cant enjoy the view.

“some good and some really bad service”

Breakfast at the hotel was a terrible experience. After 20 minutes, no drink, no food except for my wife's cereal. I asked the one of two serves if they are always left so understaffed, as I paid for my wife's cereal rushing trying to catch the shuttle we were waiting on and not haven eaten myself, the serve told me that they weren't understaffed and starred at me. Probably not the right approach. They also tried to put me and my wife in a room with a bed only big enough for one hobbit. To the staffs credit they got me a new room and they were helpful throughout the week. Way over priced for the service and accomadations of which I hold expedia somewhat responsible.

“Smells like mildew, not worth the price”

The Town Lake Holiday Inn in Austin, though very ideally placed, is in dire need of a renovation. The entire hotel smells like water damage and mildew, especially the hallways. The air conditioners and tv's in the rooms look like they are from the early 90's. The exterior of the hotel looks like it was outdated even when it was first constructed. And even though the location is central to all the Austin site's you want to see, it is hard to get to. Placed at the intersection of an interstate highway and the river, you can only get to it from the service road, and the roads in Austin are already confusing as it is. We paid way too much for a tiny, smelly room and we were not pleased.

“Highway High-LOW”

Our room was and view was of IH-35. On our first night, we came in late tired, and looking for a good nights sleep, but it rather difficult, even though I called ahead to request a king size, QUIET and secluded room. The only positive was thet the hotel is situated right on Town Lake ..... but you can't see from the hotel; you walk outdoors and disappointingly enough, you'd think they would have a patio back there to enjoy the view ... no dice.

“It was alright”

Not worth the advertised price, and barely worth the unadvertised price I paid for it. The room was small, the pool and gym were in a different tower, and it seemed a little run down. Other than that it was ok.

“Holiday Inn”

The hotel was fine, you need a car to get around so make sure that you have a rental. Clean rooms, good service, I would recommend it.

“It's OK for the price”

This is a 3 star hotel. The room is small but it's clean, nothing fancy. We asked for a riverside room but they want $20 more so we just settle for a lesser view. We only stayed for one night and it met our needs. While the hotel is located in downtown Austin, it is still not within walking distance to many places in downtown. The pool is a little in convenient since we had to walk to the other side of the hotel and up 6th floor above the garage. The hotel offers free parking outside and in the garage so that's a plus for being in downtown area.
