“Excellent”
I loved the room and the service, for a very good price (booked only one week in advance). Location is very good. Only problem is lack of cheap parking.
“not the best for the price”
was not at all impressed, had to pay to much for parking along with location and wasen't even given a free moring meal.
“Great location”
Great location
“Man urinating in elevator”
Good: Hotel accomodations once in the room were satisfactory. It had a decent breakfast that provided a scenic view of downtown. Bad: Breakfast Buffet is high if you want to eat. Mandatory Valet is high they give you no other options. No taxis or bicycle rides were available from this Hotel this Saturday evening. We were forced to cancell our plans b/c we were blocked from leaving Hotel due to the construction and traffic. The kicker... Gentleman seemingly drunk was coming out of the elevator with hotel security seemed to be without room key. He rushed back to catch access with us. As we are headed to 12th floor the man urinates in the elevator. When I call the hotel staff they just laugh as they are apologizing. There was no remorse or accomodations made. I do not understand how the security allowed him that drunk to get back on the elevator with us. Anyway, for 3 star Hotel they were overpriced. Is that because it was the capitol? Halloween? Glad I was only there a night.
“Adequate, but noisy”
This hotel is in a great location just next to Hwy 35, the airport and the bars and clubs of 6th street. But this is also the problem. Many rooms directly overlook the freeway - I was given one of those rooms on the 11th floor initially but requested to be moved due to the high traffic noise. I was given another room on the opposite (city) side, which looked directly onto another building (no view at all), and was subjected to the loud music from the 6th street bars until 2am. I arrived late and hungry, but no room service after 10.30pm. Instead they have a small convenience store with snacks and a few salads. Overall the hotel is adequate, but I would of liked a better Austin experience.
“Dont understand bad reviews”
Was there with girlfriend and another female friend. Hotel was in perfect location and felt very safe for the ladies. The hotel was clean and everything worked. The staff was friendly and the Front desk ladies were exceptional. They were a big help and when they couldn't help they steered us in the right direction. We walked everywhere and cabbed only once and that was up to the university. Even though 6th and Congress is the "hot spot" we only spent time there to pop in and have a drink on our way to somewhere else. Dont go to the billiards bar!!! Horrible service!!! You must go to them. They dont come to you. Would easily choose this hotel and location again. Will be back.
“It was OK”
Not bad, great location, staff was very nice. Was looking forward to their pool after seeing the picture of the waterfall and all, and then we arrive and realize how tiny the pool actually is... didn't quite get that from the pic. Ridiculously expensive parking/valet too.
“Great location and value”
The staff gave excellent service, our room was better than expected (nice new flat screen TVs, small bathroom though), breakfast buffet was delicious (try to book your room with breakfast included), and the hotel is within walking distance of many bars and restaurants (the 6th Ave strip starts right out front) and shopping and upscale restaurants (a mile or less). The only complaint is the pool is a small wading pool and is just off of the hotel lobby. Not many people use the pool or hot tub, likely due to its size and location in the open by the lobby. We would stay there again!
“An excellent hotel on a slightly lower budget”
This hotel was excellent in many ways - the staff were very helpful, the rooms nice. Even though it is only two blocks from the action, it feels slightly removed. The pool is tiny but has a hot tub and a nice waterfall. It is not quite as luxurious as the main hotels - the Hilton, Four Seasons etc. - but it was much cheaper. And free internet is appreciated.
“No impressed”
Tub did not drain so I was standing in a foot of water while showering, and the a/c didn't seem to work so the room was always 80 degrees. Little things like the drawer pulls were falling off made the room not worth the money.
