“Great location, but hotel needs update”
The hotel needs an update
“Love the Location of the Hotel”
Centrally located across the street from the Lennix Square and Phipps, two very exclusive shopping malls in the Buckhead areas. Great view of Downtown Atlanta. Hotel was well maintained and clean. The Palms is pricy yet the food is just OK compared to the price. Staff are attentive and friendly.
“Great upscale shopping area”
We chose the Westin becaused of it's proximity to the Brazilian consulate and were very plyeased at all the shops and restaurants (although mostly steak places) that were right across the street. The Westin has large comfy rooms with great views. We were surprised that the bathrooms were extremely dated and in need of repair: cracked marble tiles, flesh colored fixtures, multiple layers of cracked caulking around the showers, etc. However, everything worked and we would return if the price was right.
“Disappointed”
I was looking forward to spending a long weekend at a nice, well appointed, conveniently located hotel in chic the Buckhead neighborhood. Unfortunately the Westin wasn't as nice as I expected. For starters the reception clerk did not explain how the parking accommodations operated and I was forced to pay $20 for parking that should have been free. I requested a room on a high floor and was offered the 9th floor when the building has more than 20 floors. The room itself could have been nice but there were holes in the lamp shade, stains on the carpet and only plastic cups for coffee and in the bathroom. Since I enjoy a cup of tea before bed and prefer ceramic cups I went to Crate and Barrel and bought my own mug and beverage glass for less than $5....which makes me wonder why the hotel cannot make the investment. The worse was noisy neighbors at 2 - 3 in the morning!
“Would stay here again”
I travelled to Atlanta for a shopping vacation and the Westin Buckhead was ideally situated. About 15mins from the airport and literally across the street from Lenox Square Mall and also within walking distance to Phipps, Target, CVS and other stores and eateries - I couldn't have asked for a more convenient location. The room was great: it was a decent size with comfrotable, plush bedding. The bathroom was fairly large with lots of counter space to place toiletries. The hotel employed a "green" conservation program and rewarded guests with a $5 voucher for every day the guests chose to forego housekeeping services. The only downside was the hotel restaurant which I found to be extremeley overpriced compared to the mediocre quality food served there.
“Great View of Atlanta Skyline”
I'd read a few reviews of this Westin. One stated that you have to use the valet parking service which is not true. If you travel along Around Lenox Rd, turn right immediately passed the hotel and go down to a parking ramp on the right. You may park in there below the first level, take the ticket to the Motor Lobby for verification and free parking at the hotel. Very nice. Be aware -- There is a "nominal" charge for the internet, but you may be able to piggy back off a neighboring service for free. The room we had was big enough, and our view (18th floor ) of Atlanta was supreme. Location is great -- Lenox Mall is within steps of the hotel. Pretty good food close by, too. Expensive area, of course. I recommend FLYING BISCUIT for a fun breakfast - and the hotel will give you a complimentary ride there and back. Very nice service. The "green" option -- be aware, you won't get any housekeeping including your coffee refills, cream, sugar, soap, etc. Most hotels it is just the linens that don't get changed. Overall, a wonderful hotel. Free lemonade in the lobby, even. I'd definitely stay here again.
“There's a difference between making a buck and price gouging...”
The hotel was fantastic. Great room, comfortable bed. However, it seemed like they were trying to make a ton of money off of everything. Internet was $10-$20 a night depending on the speed of service you wanted. Food was 15-20 for an omlette. Rediculous. I understand trying to make a buck, but this was price gouging and I won't be staying at a Westin again.
“5-Star Westin”
Most polite service in quite a while. Comfortable and quiet.
“excited to return”
Overall great hotel at a fair price. Staff was very friendly. Only 1 minor issue, our bathtub wasn't super clean. Dirty grout, and corners.......like I said, minor. Loved it otherwise!
“Part of an Expedia package --- highly recommend”
Great hotel, great value, easy to find, close to everything
