“Modern Classic”

Promoted as a 'Modern Classic' this 100 year old hotel lived up to its billing. Conveniently located between downtown and midtown Atlanta it is opposite the Fox Theatre. We benefitted from the extensive hotel refurbishment programme. The room seemed newly decorated and we had an upgrade. The beds were so comfortable! A light in the walk-in wardrobe, a full length mirror and an in-room safe would have enhanced the experience and made it excellent! What made it special was the connection to 'Gone with the Wind' premiere. The ballrooms were amazing and the decor had a contemporary feel without losing the heritage. The staff were very helpful and approachable. Wished we had used the heated swimming pool on the roof. It was still open at the end of October. The views from the roof were amazing.

Area recommendations

Enjoyed the World of Coca Cola, the Aquarium and the Olympic Park. The area around Atlantic Station was interesting too - very vibrant. Lots of places to eat and shop.

“Great Location”

“Beautiful but tiny...”

Nice room, but the rooms are tiny on and oddly laid out on the upper floors. (used to be apts)

“A grand old hotel with a change.”

I have mixed emotions about the transformation going on at the Georgian Terrace. They are modernizing all of the rooms and it does not have the same feel. We started in a remodeled room, requested an unremodeled room and were transfered as requested. Our stay at the Georgian Terrace was fantastic. The jury is still out on how we will adapt to the new rooms. The location will always be perfect.

“Beautiful hotel”

I realize that this hotel is under construction however, the paint smell and the drywall in the walls were a bit overwhelming at times. My only complaint about the room was there were no chairs. There was no chair at the desk and clearly there was suppose to be another chair in the corner of the room, under the floor lamp. So the only place to sit was on the beds. The staff were wonderful from the front desk, maids and the valet parking attendents.
