Newer property, individual units vary

Posted 07-Apr-2014
Stayed here with a groupon deal. Exterior of property is 'newer' pool, hot tubs and grounds are well maintained. Individual units vary! Recently we had a nice large end unit on top floor. Great windows, natural light & view of grounds & mtns. Condo was in dire need of a cosmetic makeover (cactus lamps and old dated bead spread and other furnishing). Carpet appeared to be recently replaced, clean....but if the owner invested in tasteful furnishings this place would shine. Kitchen was tiny, if your looking for better condos in sim. Price range and larger kitchen, better floor plan stay at the Laurelwood.

Ski in Ski out Convenience

Posted 23-Feb-2014
Pros: Very spacious, great location, friendly staff.
Cons: This particular unit had only very basic kitchen/cooking utensils, etc.
Location: Skiing at four Aspen Ski Company mountains, biking, hiking, fishing. Numerous warm weather festivals. US Pro Cycling Challenge in August.
The Aspenwood condos are slope side in the upper Snowmass Village. Spacious and well maintained, with full kitchens and secure ski lockers right outside the front door. Just steps to fabulous Colorado snow and a short walk to Village restaurants, shops and entertainment. A convenient and extensive bus system makes a vehicle unnecessary. A serene setting winter or summer.

Aspenwood Condominiums -Snowmass, CO 12/16-12/23

Snowmass is amazing and the Aspenwood is a great location. The staff with Destination Resorts were really nice and helpful. My unit J1 was a kind of funky like a lot of ski condos tend to be with mix and match furniture, but it was comfortable. Great bed! The kitchen was small but had everything I needed. It was called a studio but it was a one bedroom without a door to the bedroom. Good size if you were sleeping 2-3 people, anymore than that would be tight. I had about a 25 yard walk to the slopes. Right through the Westin Hotel. So when you ski down, ski down to the top of the Westin. There is a walk through that opens up to an alley that leads right to the Aspenwood. The Jacuzzi was nice and hot! They have two but one was broken. Parking is easy and right across the street. Once you are here, you can ditch your vehicle as there are buses going everywhere you would want to go. It's about 8 miles to the town of Aspen. Get your groceries in Basalt or Carbondale on your way in as groceries in this area are typical of what you see in Hawaii. The Snowmass Village has everything you need to have a good vacation and the shuttle is there to take you to Aspen if you need to get your funk on. People were very friendly. Overall a great vacation experience!
