“Weekend away, one word awesome”
This hotel is fantastic, I've stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and this is a special one, location is superb, service second to none, am definitely going back and soon.
“Great hotel - Everything was perfect”
I highly recommend this hotel. Staff is very friendly and attentive, hotel is very well kept and clean, rooms are very comfortable, terrific bathroom, great location - centrally located in town. This was my 1st time in Amsterdam and Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam made my stay very enjoyable. I will definitely stay here next time I go back. You won't go wrong with this hotel.
“Will Be Back”
great staff, good food, beautiful building...spend 'em if ya' got em
“Would love to go back”
The Sofitel Grand was terrific, we'd love to go back. Terrific location and great rooms.
“On the fence”
I liked this hotel for various reasons warmly greeted and great service throughout our stay. However I'm not convinced for the size of hotel room and price per night its justified as a 5 star hotel
“Beautiful Stay in Amsterdam Sofitel the Grand hotel”
We visited Amsterdam for 2 days and stayed at Sofitel hotel. We had a wonderful stay in sofitel. The service was excellent. We enjoyed the gym and sauna and the beautiful inside pool that is free of charge. We enjoyed the tea and coffe that was in our room. They had the best coffee that I ever had. The only thing I did not like was that there were stairs in the room to go from the entrance to the room. Other than that it was top notch experience. Thank you Sofitel for a wonderful experience. True 5 star hotel.
“Great hotel”
This hotel is most probably one of the best. Staying a Saturday night is however noisy at night, even with the windows closed, considering the proximity to the Red Light district. Besides that, everything was perfect!
“One of the best hotel experiences”
This hotel was first rate. Everything about it was amazingly over the top. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here. I can't wait to go back.
“One of Amsterdam's best”
A great hotel, with a great restaurant in a great location for all the key sights. Only weakness is its breakfast - which is either very expensive (in their main restaurant) or is reasonably priced but the seating in their lounge area is not the most comfortable way of having breakfast. The hotel also supplied us with a brilliant street map which had tram and bus details overlaid on top of the map - which we found incredibly useful (certainly better than our tourist guide book). AND not a hotel issue but take care with taxis from the railway station (Amsterdam Centraal) to the hotel - they can be very expensive! By contrast taxis from the hotel to Amsterdam Centraal are quite reasonable.
“Excellent hotel.......but”
Had a fantastic stay at the Grand Sofitel in Amsterdam. Only criticism was we were on first floor and were woken every morning at 6am with noise from staff and vehicles - can only assume we must have been right beside a works entrance!

Dam Square - Central Station, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The bustling heart of Amsterdam, this district attracts hordes of visitors teeming from Centraal Station to Dam Square and its beautiful Nieuwe Kerk (14th-century). The oldest part of town, Oude Zijde, is famous for its Red Light District, but the University and the docks bring a different kind of colour and buzz to the narrow streets.
