“Much nicer than the name suggests”
I stayed three nights at the Westcord Fashion Hotel, which is located on the Ring Road and easily accessible, but fantastically sound-proofed and a lovely cocoon once inside. Very comfortable rooms and bathroom, excellent SkyyBar with a great bartender and nice "small plates" for a light meal. Made for a comfortable stay and will certainly entice me back.

“Great large room”
We enjoyed our stay it wasn't in the centre but it worked out for us as it was nice and quite the area, tram 1 and 17 goes to the centre only took us 10 mins. Easy to get to the hotel from the airport, you have to take the train to laylelaa not sure on the spelling then you get the tram 1 or 17 only 1 stop then 7 mins walk to hotel. This hotel is worth staying at.
“Good 4* Hotel 15 Mins Outside Of Centre - But Watch Out For Extras”
I enjoyed my stay. The Fashion Hotel is a pretty good 4* hotel all things considered. The décor is modern and stylish. The staff are reasonably friendly and helpful. The facilities are what you would expect from a good 4* hotel. Location wise, the hotel is a little out of the way, but not too far for me. Step outside the hotel and you are 10 minutes’ walk from the tram stop. From there you can catch either #1 or #17 into the city center. Trams are every 5-10 minutes and the journey to the center takes about 15 minutes. Downside: Watch out for extras! The nearest convenience store is 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel, so you’ll probably end up paying high prices for restaurant food (which is not bad) and 17 Euros for breakfast every morning (which is also quite good). The gym is free, but if you want to use the sauna or steam room they will charge you 10 Euros. Overall: Good 4* hotel with good food and good facilities, as long as you're prepared to pay for a few extras and you don't might the 20 minute commute into the centre.
“Expensive but good”
This hotel is NOT downtown near the action, but is just a quick 10-15 min ride on the trams (#1 and 17) from the Leidse , and is close to the Metro/tram/train stop A'dam Lelylan. It is a modern hotel that I have stayed at for 3 years now (4x altogether), and I pretty much love the modern feel and the large size rooms (by A'dam standards large, not america-type large) but still end up with the same problems. Last tram out of downtown is midnight (12:35 actually), and the entry to the hotel from the ground floor is closed after 11 pm (it used to be 8 PM !!). To arrive at hotel entry, you must walk up 2 levels of stairs, which is NOT fun if you have luggage or any kind of physical limitation. They at least now have the ground-level door open until 11 pm with your room key, but I have a leg injury at present and had to lug my luggage up the stairs to gain entry for sign-in. The very very average buffet breakfast is far overpriced so dont eat here. The skybar on the top floor is nice, not great, but nice. There is enough downside to this hotel that I am NOT seeing improved to make me seriously look elsewhere (ie - downtown area) for my next visit to A'dam, which I love. This is, however, a good modern hotel with spacious rooms, free internet, and not a long ride out of downtown for those with transit passes (buy the 3 day pass). Still like the place, just think I'll try elsewhere my next visit.
“best hotel in amsterdam”
g8 hotel out of the way
“Westcord Fashion Hotel”
Me and 3 other friends stayed in this hotel and though its slightly out of the city centre but its still worth it. We had a double bed (for me and my friend) and the room was very very clean. Free wifi all throughout the lobby / cafe and in our rooms (loved it!) and Ive used the gym and swimming pool. Shame that the price didnt include breakfast (booked through Expedia). The biggest downer was the check in time at 3pm(??) as we arrived kinda early in the hotel, we had to wait for 2 hours just to check in. Food in the cafe was brilliant. But the price in their restaurant was quite expensive, we didnt eat there. Accessible by Tram for a good 15 mins from the city centre. After 12mn, we had to get a cab to get back to the hotel as we didnt see a lot of buses going near the hotel. Over all, its still good value for money and Id rather stay here again than to stay in the city centre as hotels near town are more expensive and probably not as nice in terms of amenities.
“Very good hotel”
Comfortable and clean. Only far away from downtown.
“Great Hotel, but too far from central Amsterdam”
I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The room was exremely comfortable and very clean. i had a lot of space and i was very comfortable. it was was around the corner from the tram and was very simple to find. The hotel bar and was restaurant were also pretty decent. the only issue that i had was that I had to take a cab a pretty long distance after the train stopped at midnight
“awesome!”
beautiful hotel, we would defiantly go back to this hotel!
