“Great City, Great Location, Great Breakfast”
Amsterdam is an absolutely beautiful city and this hotel is perfectly located on several tram routes to get to any of the museums, shopping districts or further travel facilities (Airport and Train Station). Staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and professional in every encounter. Perfect place to stay in near perfect city.
“Nice Hotel, don't be put off by the location”
Arrived early, not a problem, upgraded to Exec room at no extra charge (Hilton Gold Member), room clean and comfortable, Exec lounge superb, the staff couldn't help enough, fourth time I have stayed here, and I will stay again, ignore the location 15 minutes on tram number 5 or 24 and you are in town, the benefit is the silence at night. Overall a 5 star rating well deserved.
“Great Location for Grown-ups”
This fine hotel is situated on a canal in an quiet, upscale residential neighborhood. It's far enough away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas, but multiple tram stops are just a couple blocks away to provide easy and reliable access to all of the things you'll want to do and see.
“$50.00 a night Parking???”
The hotel was nice, the concierge helpful but so disappointed in the parking rates. Made me not trust the Hilton. The check-in staff did not tell the truth about parking. I said I parked my car in the street, is there a problem with that? She said I would have to go out every hour and put in coins. Nobody is going to bother with that so of course I moved my car into the Hilton parking and they charged 34 euro a day. That's almost $50.00 and crazy price, it isn't even valet or covered! Come to find out you can purchase an all day pass for the street, which is just a few steps away for 20 euro a day and it's free on Sunday. This was my third Hilton that I stayed in for this trip and I believe that the Hilton is now in the business of add-ons. What ever they can add onto your bill with extras they will try. The mini bar is electronic so you even pick an item up to look at it and your charged. Internet was not free in any of the three Hiltons I stayed at. On the pro side, we rented bikes very easily from the hotel (15 euro each) and rode around Amsterdam. At first we were kind of upset about the location of the Hilton, it was a very long walk from the center of all the action, but as soon as we rented the bikes, we liked that we were able to ride through the neighborhoods that were not so congested, as it is difficult to ride in the center. Visited the Anne Frank tour, it was well worth the wait and the price. Dutch people are very kind. Loved Amsterdam
“Quiet spot to stay”
Loved the Hilton. Staff, food and accommodation excellent!
“Best Hilton ever”
Fantastic stay. Great staff, good food. Awesome executive lounge.
“A Gem in Amsterdam”
The staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. And the location was perfect - halfway between the airport and the city centre!
“Great Value, wish it was closer to the core”
Clean, Comfortable, very nice rooms. Although at $11 a can of coke, Mini-bar is way over priced
“Don't worry about the location”
On the first visit I paid for a Taxi from central station, on all subsequent visits I used tram number 5 or 24, at a cost (Sept 2011) of 7 Euro's for a 24 hour ticket, the hotel is well positioned with a really nice rear garden/bar, prices are 5* Hilton, but then that's expected. The rooms are spacious and the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and well stocked with toiletries, check-in was prompt and smooth. Breakfast was of a very high quality, coffee made to order, as were waffles etc. from the kitchen. Don't be put off by the location, the trams pass through almost every area a tourist would wish to visit, and it's nice to stay somewhere quiet.
“Adequate Amsterdam Hotel but too many little faults”
Hotel is set in nice quiet area about 3 miles from city centre, relatively easy to get a trams/buses to main sites via number 16 or 5 about 10 mins walk away. Hotel itself is typical Hilton business style, VERY expensive if you want any inroom services (e.g. 27Euro for Wifi, 7 euro for an evian). Room had nice view over canal but was a little tired, had a very noisy AC and a peculiar smell. The room's cleanliness was not great, lots of dust of surfaces and bits on carpets. Reception staff were efficient and pleasant but did not offer anything additional (e.g. local knowledge advice etc). Lots of little issues that you would not expect from a supposedly 5* hotel. All-in-all would possibly recommend to friends/family but only if they got a very cheap deal.
